I made the driver’s side window channel. I also built a support for the bottom of the rear window. I didn’t trust the sheet metal alone to hold things in place. I couldn’t let the rear fender flap in the wind so I built a pickup truck style support for it.

Time for some trunk hinges. They have to be moved inboard to clear the wheel tubs so I’ve got some fabrication to do.

thank you very much but I’m not sure I qualify for the young part. The good looking one in the earlier photo is my son. This is a picture of his car that we built together.

Had a good long day in the shop but it feels like I didn’t get very far. I welded the rear roof brace to the roof skin. I got to use my new pneumatic punch and it just might be my favorite new tool. This thing is amazing. I also came up with a little bracket to support the rear roof brace.

Funny how many times you’ll get a new favorite tool! My last one was an Eastwood mini metal saw…. Then I started buying steel and aluminum cutting blades for my circular saw, before that it was an English wheel….. and the lathe lol. Slippery slope and still will never find the bottom! Keep up the progress, I too love those good days in the shop even when it looks like you got nothing done

My sawzall was my favorite tool when I was tearing down the car. That thing works!

I made some good progress today. It is a fastback now and no going back. I welded it all up and managed to line things up pretty well. I had to make one small adjustment to the quarter panel alongside the the trunk lid but most of it went together pretty well.

      Wheel tub time

I bought the do-it-yourself wheel well kit - a sheet of 22 gauge steel. I would have saved a bunch of time and bought a nice kit but they were all too big. It was fun anyway.

      First, the paper one.

      It’s tubbed

Got the other side done and the Stang is officially tubbed. I can stuff a 14” wide tire in there.
