      Wheel tub time

I bought the do-it-yourself wheel well kit - a sheet of 22 gauge steel. I would have saved a bunch of time and bought a nice kit but they were all too big. It was fun anyway.

      First, the paper one.

      It’s tubbed

Got the other side done and the Stang is officially tubbed. I can stuff a 14” wide tire in there.

      Bumper time

It’s time to work on those ill-fitting bumpers.

The do-it-yourself tub kit sure fell together quick! 14 inch steam rollers is sure a lot of tire for that little car. Bumper work is coming along nicely too. I’m sure you know this tip but just throwing it out there to fill in those pie cuts. Just stretch masking tape over the void you want to fill then cut out the shape with a razor. Carefully lift that piece of tape and lay it on a piece of steel then just cut and sand that until it matches the void. For smaller pieces like those in the bumper it works better than a dirty finger on some cardboard.

The driver’s floor fits pretty well. Time to start mocking up the rest of the interior.

Tried another backseat concept and installed the louvers. I think I’m going to smooth them in with filler rather than using a molding.
