After removing the sound deadening held up with contact cement I was able to prep and prime the inside of the roof. Before spraying the epoxy primer and coated the inside of the roof framing with a rust encapsulator.
      Thanks

Then I prep and sprayed the floors and package tray. Next I’ll seam seal the floor.
      Thanks

This isn't fair, Pat. Your 3M tape budget is larger than my engine budget.

A lot of people would have used the vinyl roof to hide all manners of evil. You gave that roof panel a lot of love! Kudos to you!

Your tips and methods of creatively working around metal solutions has me wanting to tear into my car to do the same. I noticed a lot of your hole filling methods to shape your plug but leave a handle attached. I like that idea. I have always seen people use magnets to hold the plug in place.

I want to go fire up my mig and start burning some wire.

This is my favorite build so far. I just went through all 28 pages and can't wait to see what you have for us next.

Cleaned and painted the inside of the cowl and painted inside firewall along with the bottom of the Cowl. I use a paint that looks like the color of steel as this will make it a little brighter under the dash when working on it. With the car on the rotisserie it was very easy to use a self leveling seem sealer fill the original firewall panel seams.
      Thanks
      Pat

      Thanks Wayne!

Using some cardboard I mocked up the rear brake cooling vents. I will make these up using .065 aluminum and have them powder coated black. I will make up the discharge side at the brake when the rear and wheels are back on.
      Thanks

Will you need rear brake cooling?

Probably not, but I think it's cool. Kinda like a tunnel ram sticking out of the hood ;-)

      ^^^^^^
Is the funnel end for underneath airflow or have I missed this completely?
You're doing well. I have so many hours in the hood on the 51 that I'm ashamed to post pics until it's ready for paint.

I made the aluminum rear brake vents using my cardboard template. After welding them together and grinding most of the welds down I used a air tool with a medium Scotch-Brite pad to finish off and smooth out the welds. The Scotch-Brite pad is very user friendly and fast when working with aluminum.
      Thanks

It looks great Pat, nice job. Are you painting them to blend in or leave them as an accent color?
