Good thing I am 250lbs of hungry. I can put my weight behind it. HAHA. I still want to add power steering.

Bryce, in case you change your mind about the future hydraulic power, my Electra-Steer (the "improved" 4500-lb version) is surviving my normal abuse quite nicely, and has been autocross tested (more to come); my normal (twisty road) driving is arguably more harsh than an autocross. I'm running a 1.5:1 quickener into it; the computer makes everything work great, sensing torque input as well or better than the EPS on my 2012 Honda. All it takes is a bit of room under your master cylinder or dash...

If you've got a minute, I have a question about your Stealth quickener: Is there any of the typical slack (slight, however noticeable) that seems to be common to many quickeners (mine is a basic Howe)?

I looked into the electric steering and was not satisfied with the cost or load rating. But that's good to here and I will further investigate....

I like my quickener. I have a little slop maybe 1/60 of a turn.

Thanks for the quick feedback, Bryce! I was kind of wondering if somehow the inline setup of the Stealth would behave any differently from the off-center configuration of most other quickeners (like my basic Howe). You're a dependable source of info!

well found out my rear shocks are shot. Zero compression dampening and no change with the adjuster..... rebound adjustment over 4 clicks from soft is locking up the extension of the shock and not allowing the shock to extend back to ride height after a bump. weird.

SO I will be buying new shocks, Afco makes a triple adjustable that will fit and ridetech shocks would fit. Not sure which way to go right now. I really don't want to spend 1100 dollars for rear shocks right now.

The falcon did really good yesterday. I finished 3rd in SU and 2nd in pro-touring. (.070 seconds behind rich in his 69 mustang). Good job rich.

The car felt great all of the front end push was gone. The rear shocks were noticeable bad. I was getting wheel hop on acceleration as the car would hit the bump on full compression then oscillate violently. Also the car was porpoiseing over the bumps. I think some fine tuning and new shocks and I will competitive.

I will post video and pics tonight.

well the old shocks had some internal issues and were not working properly, I ordered the SA ridetechs last week and they showed up today. So of course the first thing I do is put them on the car.

such a noticeable difference and I haven't left the garage yet. The quality on the ridetechs are second to none. I can see the engineering thought that went into theses and that makes me smile.

      now for pics:

      old ones came out:

I am reusing the springs at a rate of 225lb. Change one thing at a time and tune from there.

      Boxes unpacked:

      Installed:

      Upper mount:

I am also adding a catch can to the breather system.

      Initial mockup:

This car is sooooo tight to work on, everything just fits.

Thanks Ray, the car feels really good now. With the new shocks my confidence should be higher and I should be able to start really pushing the car. My next race is the 4th. So I am almost ready now.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - Holy cow - what a ride!!!

Took the falcon the autocross today. I did okay. Still way too much body lean. I think I was lifting the inside rear tire. The stiffer springs and sway bar and shocks helped. It allowed to go faster around the turns but the increased lateral-g increased the body roll. Time for new springs on all 4 corners and a 1/4" wall thickness sway bar. That is an advantage of the splined sway bar. Quick change!!! I will get video and pictures up tomorrow.

I also need a jack Roush hat, my floppy hat was just not cutting it.

A quick review of the last autocross:

The ridetech shocks are awesome and I found out I can get them too stiff. This is a good thing for tuning.

But I have a lot of body lean. So I ordered some new parts.

Splined sway bar 33% stiffer than the old one.

I ordered it uncoated (black zinc) so that I would get it on time.

So I coated it with this. It puts on a light clear film and last 2 years.

      Out with the old

New spring stack on the left.

Assembled with the 25lb take up spring and the new 500lb springs.

      Installed:

First test drive will be tonight.

A few weeks ago I weighed a bunch of cars.

      My dads ranchero:

My buds RSX, that he autocrossed with us the next day. He won the rookie class.

      Neighbors Busa:

He needed blocks to reach the floor.

Same neighbors Sky, I keep try ing to get him out the autocross.

      Tylers fairlane

I get to use race car parts at work. Woohoo.
