I have 275/40/17 (25.66") in the rear with a little spare room for wider and 255/40/17 (25.03") in front both on 8,5" wheels and this is how it is with Hotchkis rear leafs and QA1 coilovers in front:

I think the 27" rear will fill the wheel wells better and the higher wheels will give more ground clearance while looking lower because of the more filled wheel wells.

Just finished putting in the Russell speed bleeders and bleeding the brakes.
WOW!!!! Are they easy to use. This is the first time I have used them. I think it took me about 15minutes to bleed all four corners.
      I'm sold.

      Just to show you .

      I am running 18x 9 on the front with 245/40/18 and 10x19 with 285/35/19

To me, if I put 18's on the back , they would have been too Small..

I think Steve at East bay Muscle cars nailed the stance on this one...

Thanks Sean, not sure if it will be all the way done(Is it ever really done?).
I have a lot of business commitments in April, so not sure yet. Trying to move things around.
      Trying like crazy though.
Solarguy - I do like the look of your car alot!!!!!! I'm on the fence 18" or 19" on the back.
The 285/40/18 are just alittle taller then your 285/35/19. I do like the look of the back wheel being just abit bigger.
Decisions, decisions, decisions, a guy could go crazy

I went crazy.... Some angles you see the Larger wheel , and some you don't... My fear was that 18" would look too small in back..

What a fine line.....After i got the 19"s in back, I almost thought they were too much.. Also the finish on the wheel and the gap or no gap on the rear quarters, is critical. for me, too much chrome all over a 19" wheel is borderline...

So, no you are not crazy by going crazy...This is a big decision.. For me it was a 4400. dollar wheel and tire decision, i better get right the first time...

Check out the rushforth website to look at stances in the gallery... i went with the black too ,because it toned down the largeness of the rim...

For me, the two side pictures seal the deal..If they were 18 on the back ?? Too small..

Steve and Jason nailed it on my car...

Also 19 in back will limit your tire choices...Some gumball tires , don't make the sizes, but the KDW2's seem killer to me, and they will only get better over time..

Scubbed down the gas tank today and will hit it with a coat of bed liner tommorrow.
Inside of the tank looks like it was just put in last week.
Pretty amazing for a 40 year old tank.
I was going to coat the inside of the tank until I saw what great condition it was in.
Orderd a new pickup and anti-squeak pads.
I have read alot of stuff about differant vent systems but I think I will just keep the original.
Just going to replace the charcoal canister with a filter hidden in the front fender.

Coated the gas tank with bed liner, installed the new gas tank sending unit today.

Also got the K&N filter in for the gas tank vent tube.
Read alot of the posts out there about vent systems and the common thread through all of them is that the stock ones work really well.
So I just descarded the original charcoal canister and replaced it with a small K&N filter hidden in the front fender.

Ok, I know it's a small thing but, I love the small details.
The K&N filter just didn't fit with the anti-chrome look I'm going for.
So, I painted it satin black.
I know it will be hidden in the fender but I couldn't help myself.
      I would know it's there.
Again, I love the small details.

Picked up 4 MRR Gt-1 18" wheels mounted with Nitto's today for very cheap.
Even if I don't use them, their good for mock ups for future projects.

No Sean, I don't have everything yet.
Plus I want to ride around with the stock suspension for a week or so.
Then replace everything. I know, strange. But I want to get the full upgrade experience.

Project is coming along very nicely. With the KBS, did you purchase the sprayer from them for the chassis coating?

      Thanks Chris.
I brushed the KBS on. It self levels and smoothed out pretty good.

Decided to go in a differant direction with the wheels.
Found these 18" wheels with the perfect backspacing and the satin black with the brushed machined look to the outer rim of the wheel.
Matches the engine compartment perfectly. Plus I want to brush the bumpers too.
