      Hi Marty,
      I went with KDW 275/40/18 & 245/40/18.
      Nothing crazy.

The ignition switch in the 70 steering column has decided to start suppling juice in all positions plus the horn contact has also decided at the same time to blow anytime it wants.
I'm really getting tired of 1970's technology.
Pulled the plug on the old tech and ordered an ididit steering column.
Looking forward to the 8 way tilt, plus it comes with all billet levers.

I want to thank you for sharing your build. The 70 RS is really looking good. I have learned a lot from your posts. I am planning a 77 TA build and would like to know if you would share some additional detail about the Vintage AC, firewall, and the painting of the frame with KBS?

VA doesn’t make a kit for the TAs so I would like to know more about the Camaro kits and if it would be a better starting point than the VA universal kit. Do you have additional photos and details of your install, mainly under the dash and the firewall?

I only saw one photo that showed your firewall and I really liked what I saw. Does that AC delete plate come with the VA kit or is it from DSE? Can you post additional photos of the install and talk about how you completed the install inside and finished the firewall?

I read that you finished the frame by brushing on KBS. I have used POR15 before but never KBS. Can you tell about the specific KBS products you used and how you applied them to get that smooth satin coat? Did you use any thinner, primer, surface preparation, how many coats?

Thanks for any information you are willing to share. Please PM me if that is better for you.

      Hey Dan,
Thanks for the praise. It has been alot of fun and a huge learning experience.
Unfortunatly I don't have any more pictures of the under dash part of the a/c build.
I will say that it was a pretty easy install though.
Which kit does Vintage Air say to use?

The delete plate is actually a heater delete plate from DSE, although they told me it will not fit a 70 Camaro.
Other members assured me it would and they were right. The VA firewall plate that comes with the kit is really ugly.
So I actually installed it on the inside side of the firewall and used the DSE plate on the engine side.
Using them together gave me something to bolt the Heater delete plate to.
The top mounting bracket for the under dash unit bolts right into the cowl area. They give you a template and you just drill 2 holes. Pretty easy.
Go onto the VA website and you can download the directions, along with the mounting templates. I think you can also get a mockup unit from them.
Check out the ac section for other T/A owners who have install VA units. They could be a lot of help.
      Check this one out.

Concerning the KBS, I used their "Frame Coater Kit" http://www.kbs-coatings.com/frame-coater-kit.html
It comes with everything you need to clean and prep the frame.
Although their idea of satin was alittle too glossy for me. I ended up painting over the KBS to get that satin look.
      Still a great product.
      Good luck with your project.

Thanks for the reply, good information.

Is your car heat only for the heater delete plate to fit or does that plate fit a factory AC car also?

VA recommended a Universal Gen IV Magnum for my car, but I think I will talk to them more about it. I reviewed the install instructions for the Camaro kit and it looks like a lot of it will fit my car. I may have to get some parts from both kits, it will work.

      Thanks again for the help.

      No problem Dan,
The plate I used was a heater delete plate.
DSE has an a/c delete plate. It looks like this.

Looking to replace the original steering wheel with this Momo Jet Black one.
Not sure yet, may order it just to see if I like the size, 13-3/4".
Posted it in the Interior Section to see if anyone has one and what they think.

I like it. It would be wild if you could put paddle shifter buttons in the places where your thumbs go on each side.

      That would be cool.
I want to use this NRG quick release hub & lock system for this wheel if I decide to go with it.

Got the column painted today and started to take the lower part of the dash apart and the steering wheel off.
Trying to get a head start so I can get the whole column swap done this weekend.

Both the Momo & the NRG stuff is awesome.
I really like the small bits of carbon fiber.

The K&N filter just didn't fit with the anti-chrome look I'm going for.
So, I painted it satin black.
I know it will be hidden in the fender but I couldn't help myself.
      I would know it's there.
Again, I love the small details.

Awesome build man..I would like to get the same K&N filter for my tank vent tube as well, could you please post the part number and where you bought it from?

Can you post a side pic of this setup? It looks awesome. I might have to do the same. This is a quick release? How easy is it to remove and put back on? Could this also be theft prevention? Thanks and love your build.

Thanks Scott, it is even better then I thought it would be. And I thought it was going to be great.
Here is a link to the wheels I am using. I got them on ebay.

      Thanks Peter,
It is really easy to take on and off. I'm sure it will make it harder to steal the car now. Unless they have a flatbed.
Here are a couple of side pictures.
