I'd like some feedback --- What do you guys think of this?

some duct tape, cardboard and some smudging with PS to give the idea.

The general idea is to Fabricate the side skirt so it's about 3" lower, smooth and clean on the bottom. should give the side of the car a little bit taller look.
Fab side scoop, and move the bottom line of the scoop down and further forward. (it won't be as promenent as shown here)

      I like it.

Are you thinking about doing the same treatment along the rear quarter panel behind the rear wheel? I think a subtle extension on the rear quarter panel might have a better line from the lowered rocker panel extension to the rear quarter panel.

      Looking good!

Thanks GT500KR, I looked over your build - nice work!

      Thanks Guys.

Garner, absolutely yes, it will still taper towards the back but be lower behind the wheel, to match the rocker.

Looking good. I really like how you did the subframe connectors and all the metal fab work. Any thoughts on turbocharging the fastback?

      Thanks for the responses guys!

I'm just not loving the shape of the wheel wells. they just remind me of a truck well. i'll be looking for something else to use, something newer and ROUND

We did Finished the wiper motor/arms in the transmuted cowel area.

Primed the bottom of the sheetmetal cowel with 3M weld-through primer & put it back in place.

sorry for the late reply, i saw you had posted in another thread and wanted to see if you were still working on yours, looking great.

my set up is on a 93 coupe, it was in the august issue of 5.0 along with my hellion shelby. final tune on it a 19 lbs on 93 octan was a hair over 740 to the wheels. i got rid of the shelby and picked up an aston martin vantage, i miss the shelby..lol..

great looking work you have been doing, i hope to gain the skills to tackle something like that myself.

here is a picture of mine off ebay. Sorry it's still getting worked on,these are what I have so far,no full side shot with the skirt. It is like the Eleanor one where my exhaust will come out before the tire. Sorry thought you were looking for ideas. Your mod is very subtle, looks stock, nice

      Thanks for the comp.
I've seen this picture before. One of the best looking coupe's out there IMO. love the color and those CCW's look great! didn't know it was hellion turbo'd must be a very fun car.
      Great numbers too.
I hardly ever drive my 96. just changed the ring to a 355 & got new tires because my old nitto's couldn't hold traction at 8# -- looking to turn it up some more.

      Thanks Rick!

Been way to busy with work and family lately, hard to find time to work in the garage.
we mounted the brake booster/master and that stock piece from the 97 is huge! looking at something aftermarket that doesn't stick out 2 feet!
got the dash back in and the MM steering shaft. need to lengthen it a bit & drop in the motor to check clearance. that's my next step.

the green car is all over the svtp website so i am sure the pics have gotten around. i am really enjoying this build and will definitely stay tuned to see how she comes out

A couple of thoughts: two of the things I did not like about this front end when it was on my car were steering shaft interference and the motor being too far forward. I ended up moving the engine a little to the side to allow my steering shaft to fit, but I was a lot closer than you appear to be.

Looks like there is a ton of room to go back, but the front sump on that oil pan would interfere with the rack. you could modify the oil pan. I think there is some room to cut out of the front sump especially if you don't have a high volume oil pump (not sure if you do or not). this might allow the engine to clear the rack with a minimal increase in mounting height. I have seen griggs do this. If you can get that engine back almost up against the firewall, you may be able to get the steering shaft around the front of the header with the use of an extra joint. You would also benefit from a better weight distribution. Just throwing out ideas here, not sure how well this will work.

NICE! Good to see another Cleveland powered car around here! LOVE THAT!

It looks like the easiest solution may be to rework a couple of the header tubes. It looks like you have plenty of room to move them around since there are no shock towers in the way. Are those standard fit Mustang headers - they look like the could be Hooker Super Comps, are they?

looks good and i agree with reworking the header, either way it seems that would be the least headache.

I had the same problem. I ordered a set of shorty headers designed for the Rod and Custom Mustang II front end, but they didn't work with the power steering. The guy didn't belive me until I sent him a picture like yours. I sent back the header and had them make me a new one with the front pipe kicking out with higher curve to allow the steering to pass.
