I found some great video from Tyler's 66 Fairlane at YOUTUBE.com .Check them out" SCCA Mar16 1966 Fairlane" I know it's me riding passenger on lap 5. 45.00 for 9 laps on that track.. A bargain if you live near Qualcomm Stadium San Diego
other Great videos if you just search San Diego SCCA Autocross. even add TURBO SPRITE to that..." Next event April27.28"

Also Jason R has a video of his STX Classed 67 Camaro. He's only had 10 laps total on the car probably. So if your a Gear and tech head like most of us.You will like what he has added to his thread SCCA 67 Camaro.

If you have Autocross with us, share your videos here .not just the SCCA ones. GG, So Cal,RTTC. Other San Diego PT racers like to know what else is out there.

i've been doing a lot of youtube watching especially of the other cars that are running sm. mainly the G8 and teal civic. I'm shocked at how quick they run but i guess slicks will do that for you haha.

I'll be there at 7:30 am saturday..We have 90 cars to tech in before 9am.So be ready,,and have the collect helmet You must have a 2005 or better Snell rated one to race. We have loaners.. Helmet may also be check again at grid. My new helmet only cost me 60..00.

Saturday is a test and tune practice.meaning every driver has to have preregistered and be there between 7:30 and 8:30am to get threw tech or you will loose some laps because you were stuck in tech..We have to tech 90 cars. before first car on track at 9am. So BEST to be early. MIKE,Alcino and Brett I think Chris with the 70 Camaro is in to but not sure.

Bryce plans to be there sunday if he is finished with up grades... Mark and Bryce are trying Sway-bar changes.

So who could we expect on sunday ,,Mark 66 Chevelle,Bryce 65 falcon Tom Mustang or Cuda,,Rich 69 Mustang.

Other strong possiblities. Mike 63 Falcon ,Alcino 76 Mustang,Tyler 66 Fairlane., Jason 67 Camaro

The who knows Nick,Chris,Chad etc from del mar good guys.

BTW I'm working in riverside this week.. So I checked out Time Attack tuesdays at Adams Motorsport GO-Kart track last night..I could have some fun with my Mazda there..I saw some 44 second laptimes by a EVO.

Yes it's true Brett. Nothing you've raced up to now counts. Get in a club on Saturday because this is the 4th event and we're running out of time to get into a class and be competitive (you get to drop 1/3 of events, meaning 4 if we have less than 15 events). This is the 4th event coming up!

If you fail to have at least 2/3s participation, you forfeit the season. You could wine very single one of them and it will count for naught. More guys like to be able to drop certain outings in which they do poorly, but in your case, you'll automatically be dropping the previous 3 events with one spare drop. If you miss another event (or aren't in a club while competing) that will be your fourth potential drop, otherwise it's just your lowest point-scoring event (points for each event are a 100 point-must system with a percentage of 100 for 2nd place and below).

(BTW, do you already have a club in mind?)

Hank was the guy to answer that .He knows more of the Details on it. One think that might be missing in the info.. You also score points for your club. Kind of like Formula One but at a less glamorus scale..Both cars must finish well so the team can score the most point for team championship. Our Clubs are the same. Not 2 car teams but more like 20 plus car teams..So you have you championship points.Your club gets to count them to.

Trophies are given out for wins per event even if you don't score points.A Championship jacket is given for year end Championship Points. I came in second last year in class .and missed to many events. and came up short on some wins. .IT COULD OF BEEN MINE...LOL

Anyone doing the SCCA Novice School this weekend.. I'm not up to date on it..I think Ron Chapman from C2Racers is Hosting it. May 4 class study and Sunday May 5th at the Q..INFO at SDR-SCCA.com/solo2/schedule.. I bet it's full.. I plan to stop in and check it out anyway..

BTW at our last event we saw a great looking 66 Chevelle.. Not Mark G's best of Show and Go Blue 66 Chevelle but a metallic Gray 66 with NT01 on it.It was ready to run! When all our Vintage Muscle line up to run.The Grey 66 drove out of the Paddock and left.

I know we have many subscribers to this thread. If your coming down to check out our event let us know here. Our SCCA events can be large and comlpicated. It's really simple once you have someone that knows how things go and the days schedule to speak to.

We have had several new Vintage Muscle Cars show up at our events before our V,M show up or run ..Leaving probably thinking there wasn't any.

If we had a chance to speak to the Grey 66 .Tom ,Rich Mark, and Bryce and I would of talked him into running. With Nitto NT01s on it, it would of been easy... Isn't that right guys?

Yes we just missed that Chevelle, and he missed a glorious day at Qualcomm! Perfect weather, a nice track, and 10 laps for $40... Good times indeed.

      Tom (Tomswheels),

From a different post, you seem to have some insight or knowledge on what tires sizes BFG will have in their 2nd round of offerings. Is that something you can share?

Specifically, I'm looking for 335/35/17's or something close. But seeing the whole list of what is coming down the pipeline would allow me & others to make plans that include the Rival tires.

Hey George, I will be at novice school today. Unfortunately still not in the Camaro. I had a water pump fail Friday so I'm taking a VW Jetta for today.

      Hello Ron and Charles/v8240z

Tom will probably share what he knows about the Rival sizes.Ron you could call BFG and get that info.If enough interest is made in certain sizes they will make them.

I'm glade you are making it out Charles.I don't know if there are any Vintage Muscle cars doing the Novice event. I haven't kept track..It's called a Novice School but many have some track time and are already good drivers. So to many it's another opportunity to get track time.

Our next event will be a Triple A Race team(TART) SCCA event ON THE WEST LOT THE LARGE COURSE LOT. June 1st Practice45.00 and Sunday the 2nd Champpionship or X-run, fun run time permiting event is 30.00 So thats 45.00 for runs in the morning and afternoon Saturday and sunday 30.00 for 4 runs and if time permitting 3 runs for 5 dollars"Fun Runs".Tom bought 2 sets of those last event thats how he did 10 laps for 40.00 on a CHAMPIONSHIP day.If you know how the schedule works you can make the best of it.

TART is one of our 5 hosting clubs.THe San Diego SCCA Region has 5 clubs the take turns hosting events averaging 2 events per club a year. So if you have been racing with us for several months regularly. It's time to think club. In a club You will help in putting events on and collect points for championship. And free Pizza and Beer etc after your Hosted event. And even some free laps are possible at your hosted event.

The Chairman of TART is Rick Perry He's a big fan of V8 Power! he runs a 1966 full Race Vett ( BTW that is for sale) To see his flyer go to SDR-SCCA.com/solo2/schedule June 1st and 2nd

Print that practice flyer as soon as you can ,The entry limit for saturday. is 85ish and fills in 2 weeks sometimes..Sundays are unlimited entry but you need to know the schedule to run and registration closes at 11.30 or 12

If your interested in this event Say hello here.and we will make your First SCCA event a relaxed fun event. Most cars off this site run in Class SM or SU they run after 11:30 arriving at 10 am is the best time to not be rushed.

      Any Questions?

      Charles,

Thanks for info. I called BFG but can't seem to get the the people that actually know. If anyone has the right connection that could tell us about sizes coming in the 2nd rel;ease this summer, I would appreciate it, as I'm sure a few others would too.

      Tom (Tomswheels),

In the 19" sizes, did you see anything on the list in 335's ?

      Thanks in advance !
