Now that's funny! I can't wait to see you flogging that thing in Pahrump this November... I'm thinking the trip would be worthwhile just as a spectator...

You can add June 22 to that list Tom...It's a BMW event at Qualcomm..You sign up online..I've never done it but Alcino has. BMW not requiered. sdbmwcca.com

The results are out from last weekends SCCA TART event.. IT's been a while sense results have been out in less then a week.If your curious to what the tire compounds are used for what classes Classes starting with ST are 140 TW or harder RTR is a new Pax class for 200TW "I THINK" Most other classes can run DOT Race Compounds Like hoosiers and 710s.. if they want..these are not true slicks.. Prepared cars like FP,XP,CP etc or mods Like EM class (Turbo Rotary green sprite) can run true racing slicks..But don't have to.

There are like 45 classes available add matching ladies classes. you have around 90..So you just pick what works for you and your car

RESULTS sdr-scca.com/solo2/ Matt 69 Camaro did a 63.2 then 61.7 in fun runs..Brett,99 RoushStang was 63.4 Tom69 Cuda did a 65.6 to win ESP Rich(Fox Mustang) a 67. Mark 66 Chevelle in SM did 65.8 I don't know the improvement of their FUN RUN laps.

So Tom you Trophied Last weekend at SCCA Qualcomm and So Cal Challlenge Adams this weekend ..Your on a roll.. How did the others do up there.

been hard at work in the garage. my oem front suspension is completely gone, it started off with me just replacing the broken steering rack (blew up on the fun runs at the last event). and turned into me just tearing the entire front suspension apart. this weekend i will be installing an all tubular setup, delrin and prothane bushings replacing the oem, quick ratio steering rack with aluminum bushings, a new g-load brace, and i am picking up my new rims. R-Comps to come next month!

I'll be at the event both sat/sun at the end of this month testing out the new equipment. who knows, with the new suspension components and how considerably lighter the car will be... i may be a contender without R-Comps, but we'll see.

I'm still working on finding a motor for my Wankel racer. Pulled a motor out of one today that had good compression but still had a weak apex spring.or broken.Passed on buying it. I might move up to a 6port 13b.,,legal in Street Prepared classees.because 84 and 85 had that option.12a 4 port or 13B 6port.mines a 82 FB same as

When do you get the tires Brett... ?

Tom 109 degrees is a little to hot to have fun in Willow Springs..The car might not like it either.I think Matt is planning on Willow Springs too..

And to all of you Larry H our photo guy has loaded up photos from june 2nd.. Some good shots of you guys..Tom and Rich in the Fox Stang Rag top..plus one of Rich testing the limits of the brakes..You never know the limits until you exceed them sometimes....Good shots of Matt. When new trick cars come to our event, Larry knows to get good pictures. nice shots of Mark,Brett and Tom's Cuda too.

Most photos on page 13 to 16 on june 2nd listing at lateapexphotos.com or is it just photo..?.

I will be getting wheels and tires the next paycheck in July, gonna be a big one since I've been working a lot of overtime lately.

I dont know if you guys have heard of the 2000 Cobra R but I sourced a set of used 00R wheels from SVT to throw on the Roush. The cobra R was a purpose built road racing car designed by ford's SVT program, the wheels they used are an 18x9.5 size and only weigh about 16lbs a pop. That added with the R-Comps and rear suspension mods I'm planning and this car is going to be a whole different animal with traction

Hey Brett I found these on Ebay and bought a pair:

      http://www.ebay.com/itm/BFGoodrich-G...5a0959&vxp=mtr

They are more of a road race compound than a pure autocross compound but im going to try them on the front of the Mustang this weekend at the Q. $150 for a brand new 40 treadware tire in a 285/18 was too cheap to pass up. I may buy another pair so I have a full set to run on trackdays. George how does the R1 do at the Q?

You know I thought about that George, I was hoping Goodguys would let the winners at Pleasonton into the end of the year shootout, just to give the late models a shot at it. Will you be there in the zo6?

      It was a good June 30th Sunday of competition at Qualcomm Stadium..Tom K taking 1st place in his 2013 Mustang in class ESP.Dan W taking 3rd missing 2nd by 2 tens of a second driving Mike Y 65 Mustang.Rich T took 2nd in his 69 Mustang.Mark G in 66 Chevelle 4th and Mike Y 5th Dennis 6th..

Everyone drove well,So tires made the difference Tom on Hoosiers 69.???sec Rich on Nt05 73.6sec, Dan on JUNK!73,8??sec Mark on NT555 Mike Y and Mark both in 74.??? I heard from some fast Miata and Fiat drivers that the track was bit tight for their liking..The Vintage Muscle cars were up for the challenge.Times in the 70s is a sign of a tight twisty course for San Diego

Next event won't have a Saturday practice offered. That usually means a bigger turn out of racers on Sunday.

Brett finished SM 4th 10th of a second behind 3rd..He has done the suspension upgrades.Tires are next

WE had some returning drivers Mike and Dan,WE hope to see more new faces an cars next event. WE probably had 150 plus entries on this warm/hot day..NOT WARMorHOT But COLD TO Dan...

NEXT EVENT JULY 21 Qualcomm Stadium San Diego find schedule at SDR-SCCA.com/solo2 Sunday on LARGE WEST SIDE Parking lot with 40 ft of elevation change. half mile plus course...Always a lot of fun

I too wish there was a late model shootout. I running the truck in November and should have brought the Z06 down to Del Mar back in April as you gave me and everyone else in the SS class a beating.

Great fun Sat and Sun! Really nice to see Dan and Mike in the 65 Mustang, that car will be tough once they get some tires on it. The BFG R1/Hoosier A6 combo completely changed the 2013 from way tail happy and traction limited to hooked up and understeering. Faster but not quite as entertaining...
