definitely had a big smile on my face driving the tires off the car haha. I'm honestly hoping for more tight courses for the rest of the season, I have a huge advantage over the other cars in SM if we do. if not, I'm sure the fact that I have a torquey v8 will make up for it ;)

Your car looked great out there mark! looked even sexier with the rain on it :P

Thanks Bryce. I just need to up my seat time now. Brett, I forgot where I mounted my windshield wiper switch. I have not used them in over 10 years.

Nice shots Mark! It's nice seeing different commentary on this thread.

Good shots of you guys at the starting line too.I'm still tring to figure out how Tom wasn't in any of those photos..He was inbetween me and the camera.

Tom it was fun being the starter.Next time get there a little earlier and you can find the work position available.

Last weekend after the car seemed to run so good before my runs.It started having problems .some my fault.First lap a 66 second lap plus one cone.Next lap a 64.xxx putting me in 1st..Then word of a DNF Damn! 3rd lap I left the parking brake on and did a high 67..lapGlade I didn't have a brake fire...Plus the car was sputtering and idling rough and doing little backfires..4th lap down on power...Thought I could of had another Apex seal failure...
New Dist cap & rotor and wires was needed but didn't cure the problem.Carb problem was always on my mind..Never had problems with that Dellorto carb before.Swaped it for the 4 barrel Holley 750 Racing Beat Craigslist intake. It came alive.

OLd fuel tank dirty fuel filters ,stuck Needle seat Is probably all it was.Plus the Hayden 3651 relay fried on the way home.

Are you racing with us next weekend Bryce.. Be nice to see you 2 events in a row a again.Plus more cars and more chances at 1st,2nd and 3 place trophies ..there is even a 4th place trophy.I think you need 15 in class for that

ANY ONE OUT THERE PLANNING ON MAKING THEIR FIRST EVENT.!???Next aug 3rd is a practice.pre register for 45.00 for 10 laps plus..Sunday is show up early pay and drive..30.00 for 4 laps.and 5.00 for 3 laps at end of day. Most of our guys just pay another 10 for 6 more laps..So that is 10 laps also for Sunday

      weekend trial memberships are 20.00

Anyone interested in going to one of those afternoon downtown carshow cruise nights?Escondido has their's on Fridays.El Cajon on Wednesdays ,La Mesa on Thursdays..Best one to plan for I think would be Encinitas once a month Cruise night..It's every 3rd thusrday on August 15th.It would be cool to see your cars with helmets and photos.Encinitas is close to a equal drive for everyone..Not the only event to choose ..most events are based on 4pm to 8pm. Some have live bands. These are only summer events.

      SAN DIEGO AUTOCROSS Sept30 Oct20 Nov18

Went to Extreme Autofest this Sunday to test the new tires on the SE lot. Out of the 40 cars that showed only one that beat me was Nathan in his FSP AE86. he had me by .300! Jonathan was out in his newly prepped M3 for sm, looks like the heat is turning up some more in that class!

Jonathan F. showed me pics of his new SM car.His Civic was getting beaten up in SM.

Bryce I've been to the Escondido events a few times.Never saw the Falcon..:(.Do you get any curious to know if you race it?.That's Toms town.

Next event is a SDAD event..Always well thought out courses. It will be on the South East lot.Where 180 degree turns are king, big radius and tight ones too..Master them and you will get a good lap time.Good for torque advantage! It's the smaller lot

THe sunday schedule for you Muscle car guys is 4th run group SM,SU 5 group ESP . it's the revers of last event.

Last event I was distracted by car problems that I forgot getting 65.xx laptime. After taking the Carb apart.I did find stuff stuck in one of the jets..Looks like the fuel we use these days breaks down the plastic fuel filter( makes them brittle). Then pieces get into the jets.Does that sound correct?or maybe I'm not changing them often enough.

Dan What are you driving sunday .Are you and Mike doing the practice?

The Sept issue of Popular Hot Rodding is out. There is a Del Mar Good Guys article.Tom,Nick,Chris, Rodney and others are pictured. Most of you have your names listed.I saw it when I was in Vons.We just need to get some of the other local guys at our SDR-SCCA events ,Chris,Nick ,Chad,Ralph

Looks like Popular Hot Rodding is the Pro Touring mag.Great to see a Mag show so much coverage of Vintage Muscle car autocrossers.

So I'm looking at joining you guys on the 17th. The Miata has been making a ticking noise, so I'll be using the reliable Mustang. While I'll only run the practice day, I'm hoping the Mustang will be eligible for SM and a couple of other classes.

What color run group should I try to sign up for to run with some of the other muscle cars? Does anyone have a rough schedule of what the day will be like (hour by hour)?

Thanks for for wanting to join us on the 17th.. WE also have an event this weekend. Also Sundays are as good as a Saturday practice..You just have to wait till the end of the day for 6 more runs "FUN RUNS"!

I haven't signed up yet for the 17th practice..Tom he always to signs up first and announce his run group here and everyone follows.I can't remember if afternoon or mornings are favored.

What year is you Mustang? Classes ESP,SM, And SU are the favored classes for muscle cars with some upgrades in San Diego,CP is another option.SM and SU always run at the same time while ESP works. Our other Brett stays in SM(1999 Roush Wing Godzilla Green Stang),Tom runs ESP in a 2013 stang and the other 4 or 6 Vintage Muscle. They ran SU last time.SM and ESP in the past.

If you want to run practice signup now.

I work my second job on saturdays so I usually run sundays. I will be there on the 4th and 18th. I run SU class then by fun runs.

Another Brett with a Mustang! This one has less wings so we can tell who is who. This Brett has been running his fox-stang at the SoCal Challenge events this year. Brett I have a wedding to goto so the 17th is the one event I wont be at, you do need to print out the flyer and send it in with a check, since its a Saturday practice. You also dont need to be in any "class" for practice. If you join us on the 18th (Sunday) you dont need to pre-register. You can run ESP with me in the 2013 Stang, or SU with the pro-touring dudes, both run after lunch so just arrive by 11AM.
