I think I'm ready to..New Larger Motor CHECK! Larger Alloy 3 row radiator.CHECK! New fan relay and switch plus other cooling tricks.CHECK! Same carb and jetting and exhaust. Now It's louder because of the larger motor. Now I'm worried about the DB limit of 93 and the warnings at 91 and 92.

Brett You should do well next event. You know the 240 and the civic that is sometimes fast.Their tires are stickier then your new ones..Have you heard of Formula V and Fast Lap.It works..if you do it 5 days before.I know of guys that put that stuff on brand new Hoosiers just to get that win. It's easy for me to sit and tell guys to spend money...LOL C2Racers.com keeps it in stock .on Vickers street Kearny Mesa if interested

sure the 240 and civic are on better tires but I've got $4000 wrapped into my suspension alone and I'm still not done with it, not to mention the ridiculous motor under the hood. I may not beat Neal and his 240 but once I get a hang of the new tires I guarantee our times will be identical. Ideally, my main focus is to beat the G8 in every event by a second or more, this will put me in second place in points at the finish of the year. To win, I'd have to beat the 240 by 1.5 seconds each event and I just don't see that happening haha.

Oooh beating than G8 by one second is a lofty goal, that guy is super smooth.... My target on sticky tires is to beat the 3guys running F-stock in new Mustangs, and run with the guy in the G8. That being said I think your new tires are a bit better than the G8, and as you mentioned with all your mods you SHOULD be able to run with/beat him. Just remember he has LOTS of seat time in that car, and right now I think he's just out driving me. Those BFG R1 arent quite Hoosier A6's either on my car (and my car is a bit heavier than yours) the R1's seemed to like higher pressure (38-40). Last time I tried 32-34 psi And they were NOT as happy.

George it will be good to see the "bigger" rotary at work, what is that about 1.2 Liters?

not too lofty of a goal, you guys haven't seen me drive with real tire before, you're in for a treat ;)

as for the R1's yeah they like a higher pressure according to the manual that came with mine. autocross it says for me to set my cold psi at 37 and adjust to the conditions as they heat up.

Tom I just picked up an 18v impact wrench from Harbor freight for $90. 25% off coupon did it and seems like a high quality piece!

the garage is clean and the tool boxes are packed. One last alignment check on the falcon. Maybe scale the car too.

I just hope it doesn't rain.

nice drives by everyone yesterday, especially Rich and Bryce! not easy to maneuver these big ass cars around a tight, Miata type course.

hit my goal by a mile. beat the g8 by 1.7 seconds and nabbed the 240 by .017 lol. gotta keep this up the rest of the year!

thanks Brett, the falcon gets closer and closer everytime. Time to order some new rear coilovers as mine are broken. I think I can get rich next time. He beat me by .070seconds. Good job Rich.

      # 2 was the number of the day..Tom in 2nd place ESP.Brett in 2nd place SM.Rich best finisher of the Pro-Touring guys in SU classe a 2nd place.A 2nd place trophy is given out if there are 7 cars in the class..SU and SM had 7 cars. Not Official but I think Rich and Brett do get trophies.Bryce that means you missed a trophy by .070..you need 4 more cars in class to get a 3 place trophy.

Me I got a 3rd..and Tom did catch me, his best time was 67.0 I was 67.1 It was over 8 months ago that I would beat all you guys 5 seconds plus not anymore 2 seconds is the average now.

Great Day at the Q! Where else can you race and spend the day in July at 73 degrees? I grabbed some Photos of the Pro-Touring guys being waved off by our good friend George. I thought Id give a little update on each car and driver with the pics:

Rich ran the fastest PT time of the day in his 1969 Mustang, with arguably the lowest buck Pro-touring car... How ? Seat Time and decent tires!!!! Rich hasnt missed a local autocross in about a year and is running good, solid 200 treadware tires (255/40/17 Dunlop Star Spec Z1 front, 275/35/18 Nitto NT-05 rear). He also has his homemade, custom caliper adapters working well with 05-09 Mustang 12" front disc brakes. Congrats and well-earned, Rich!

Bryce has probably the least recent track time of this foursome, but most engineering time in his Falcon, and has the always formidable Falken RT-615K tires. Fighting rear shock issues, he was within a second of Rich and improved every lap. More track time will make him very tough to beat!

Mark had the prettiest Pro-Touring car there and ran a solid third, he has been getting the Chevelle out to the So-Cal challenge events and most Sundays at Qualcom. He removed the rear Sway Bar for this event and was happy with the increased roll on this tight course. He needs better tires!!!

Dan and Mike brought the 65 Mustang out that is just starting to get some basic Hotchkis upgrades. This Stang was fighting braking issues and bad tires. They were my personal favorites as they brought a BBQ and Sausages! Remember everyone, there are only a few tires that work for autocross with with 200+ treadware, buy some new or used BFG Rivals, Dunlop Z1 or Z2, Falken RT615K, Nitto NT-05, or Michelin Pilot Super Sports and get out on the track!!!

I told you I may be slow at changing my tires but I would bring the heat with my times! 64.6 was my best time and watching my vids, there is A LOT of room for improvement on my part. that will come with time but I still eeked out a first place in the SM points over the 240 in my first r-comp event!

Thanks Tom. Everyone did a great job at driving the wicked tight course. Bryce had me by 1 full second by his 4th lap and Brett was flying threw the course with the new tires. Rich was in the zone big time. The car felt great even on street tires. I will probably step up to the RT615k or NT-05 next season.
