Good thing my fence kept me busy all weekend. All the recent talk here made me think it was this weekend. Next weekend I'm on baby duty so I can't race but will definatley drop by to check it out.

Anyone want to run a few laps tomorrow(Tuesday) up in Riverside at Adams? I've got new rear tires (335/30/19 Nitto NT05s) mounted on the 2013 GT and want to test them prior to Goodguys in 13 days, so I'm running up to AMP for a little test around the cart track. I'm going to run two hours worth 6-8 PM cost about $40.

How did you fit 335s on the back of that thing? I didn't know those would fit. I think I told you earlier, but I might be up for going out to Adams depending on how things go tomorrow morning.

Sounds like you will be fast Brett..You know about the weight drop allowances in SM.Right? there is a 200 drop for tires 275 and narrower and a drop for being live rear axle, for your car around a 100.If you legally can't get your car down in weight. Then the wider tire the better.being able to rotate tire front to back.helps in getting even wear.page 199 and 200 you know the book

Tom getting 335 That's wide.Nt05 at the rear whats in the front.

Brett are you going to run Good Guys.it's a week and half from now.You can run sunday..Most everyone on this thread will be in it.Tom knows

Tom, I have plans to go Tuesday April 2! Hoping me and my buddy can make it out.

Anyway, I'll also be at the Good Guys event on Friday April 5th and maybe the 6th. Sunday though I have to be at the BMWCCA TireRack Street Survival School to observe :( Otherwise, I'd be at the ProSolo!

BTW, autocross with a drag start? How many of you guys are going?!

Friday is the best day for driving Goodguys because you get the most laps in, but unfortunately it's 72 and older only. Sat is good but they waste time in the afternoon (1-3pm) with an "editors challenge" which is usually guys who don't drive so great breaking other guys cars (tough to watch). Sunday you can bring late models but it's not the greatest value in Spring, ($70 to run a short course). The one in November at least has a longer course to play on. The nice thing is if you have an old and a newer car like me, you can pay the $70, bring your old car Fri/Sat, then trade in your pass to bring the newer car Sun. Hank, the people I know who are going from this post are me, Rich, Tyler, and Matt A. Who else?

I won't be able to, my car is still in pieces currently. my deadline to get the car back together is the 21st of April for the Fabulous Fords Forever car show at Knotts berry farm.

as for the tire situation, I'm aware of the weight allowance for a smaller tire, but I doubt I could get the car light enough to really need it. I want to stuff as much tire as I can under the wheel wells, and until I pull the fenders or get wider fenders 285 is my limit. ultimate goal is 315's all the way around.

This came in the mail yesterday, huge thanks to roush Yates for supplying me with their cot wing! just waiting on my splitter to get here...

The rounded side plates are unfortunately useless to me unless I got to auto club speedway, they're designed to push the rear end of the car to the left at high speed, the flat side plates are what will be used, i need the correct sized hardware for those though since the hardware they sent is for the rounded plates only. overall though I'm incredibly stoked.

The San Diego SCCA SOLO2 National Tour weekend has officially started. Our biggest event ,240 entries 85% from out of town. For you Tech Gear Heads. There will be some cars built to the limit of their class. To add what I wrote earlier about impound. The classes that have weight rules will have their top finishers weighed (SM,&Prepared cars etc).A goodtime to take notes and ask questions. If your curious to know how a protest takes place .Pages 57-66 in the rule book,It gets pretty involved. The National Tour Officials have been known to pull cylinder heads off several cars all in one class..DRAMA!

Another thing different is each class lines up at the start together. So if you see a ESP at the start line the other ESP cars will be right behind it.Easier to keep track who's fast.So bring a Chair and check it out.

Nice wing Brett I don't know if I've seen any Carbon Fiber wings at the Q before.Yes that made me look into the rule book..LOL.Seems legal to me.

I've been caught making mistakes before with mods to my car.Thats why I always check.Years ago I drilled a 4" hole next to my radiator. It was for a cool air inlet. My friend and competitor told me," You can't drill a hole there in Street Prepared"(CSP).Next weekend I was at the wrecking yard looking for a new part.I also bought a SCCA SOLO 2 Rule Book.

Hank you'll be at Adam's kart track next week..Tempting to join the group up there.April 2

The XP class RX-3 is 400hp the SM class Nissan (SM1 ?) I think it was 680 or 780 hp.I saw a bright yellow ESP Mustang when I left it looked like a serious contender.I didn't see JR's STX classed 1967 Camaro.

ESP class will start their runs just after 10 am.saturday 9 am sunday.

Oddly you've got a picute of 2010/ 2011 XP National Champ Fred Zust (and his wife Alex) driving a Cobra that belong to someone else in XP. They own that Lotus with the dragon on the side.
Alex is my "mentor" (For lack of a better word) into this sport. Really great people and holy cow is that thing stupid fast!
The yellow Mustang you mentionend belongs to Tim Bergstrom, I know Britt Dolemyer co-drove it to a 2nd place in ESP at Nat's in Lincoln. It's very very quick.

Aw shucks.. you found me... and my little truck too (on a rare "clean" day.)
Course was tough tough tough today for the bloated beastie... tomorrow appears to be a bit more friendly to fat cars.

Jason had his Camaro out for it's first time.It didn't catch fire and no wheels fell off.For being a tighter then normal course,I don't think he DNFed.Next step "Suspension and carb tunning needs to be done" he says.
