I'm kinda getting the taildragger vibe.. maybe it is the angle but I think it might look better with the rear back where you had it. It does look better either way though.

Maybe it's the angle of the picture, but I see it just a bit now that you mention. We need a full-on profile next time you drive it Bryce.

      Thanks Linkstar,

My next build will be a purpose built start from scratch frame and suspension no compromise and the frame will be 3" off the ground. But this car can drive on the street, everywhere that doesnt have a speedbump.

Thanks for the compliment. 4-1 headers are great for performance but not good for ground clearance. The car would look better lowered a bit more, but there is no way I could fit the current tires. The back may come down a little more, but I have the coilovers backed all the way off. I could order shorter springs. But I will wait until I decide if I like the current spring rates. I might go down too 200 lb springs in the back, I can stiffen the shocks up a lot more than where they are currently set.

The top rear fender is actually close to 2" higher than the front fender. So it is probably the angle of the picture and the fact that the rear tire is covered another 3" because of the fender shape.

Bryce, What tire sizes F/R are you running again? I am in the middle of trying to figure my wheel tire package for my 65, its a hell of a thing to do when you don't have multiple rims and tires at your disposal to try different ones. I am having to do the old cardboard mock-up and hope I don't screw things up.

However long you think your project will take, double it and you might be halfway right.

That is a cool looking falcon! That one has some work done to it. Minitub in back and a flared rear fender. Small diameter front tire?

245/45/17 and 275/40/17. this is a 10" section in front and a 11" section in back both have a 25.6" diameter. Wheels are 17x8 with 5" BS and 17x9.5 with 6.5" BS.

Hope this helps, good luck with your project.

      Great thread.
I asked an owner of a '69 SCCA Woods built mustang how they got the car so low with nothing hanging below the rocker pannel... They cut the floor out, and across the firewall and lowered the body over the pan, then raised the wheel well arches to match. (Don't raise the bridge, lower the river)

      roof is currently at 52.5

the headers are about 3" off the ground. Frame rail is 6.25" off the ground.

This is as low as a falcon can go with stock spindles the LCA is now parallel to the ground.

      Thanks Hondo,

With this car my goal was to show how good a stock chassis falcon can handle. This car was too nice when I bought it to cut everything out. My next project will be a ground up build.

Thanks, I used chrysler ball joints from AFCO. Either k772 or k727. They were chysler taper with a screw in ball joint. But I go the low friction ones.

Thanks Bryce, was thinking that was the way you would go. Forgot to ask you also, did you buy the crosshafts or have them made? They look like they are the TCP standards.

I bought them from TCP for 25 bucks. I decided I cant build them for that.

The height is good--it's actually still ass-up. One must remember the unequal fender lip heights of the falcon. I got my front and rear rocker heights within about 3/4 of an inch. It was of course an accident...

It's all I can do to avoid posting a massive rant against headers here. There are literally thousands of posts on this site regarding all the horrible things that happened either because headers were in the way or because somebody wanted a certain kind of headers. Really, you could notice the whopping five horsepower after spending your way around the everpresent elephant of a pointless problem? Sorry, I've just been there and done that, and didn't return...

The stance of the Falcon is great! What I'm wondering is how 275 section widths went on 8-inch rims.
