And my wife bought me some lightweight car parts, or should I say let me buy. I will pick those up in Camarillo next week.

Christmas good to me this year. I got some new car parts...

Fiberglass trunk lid weighing in at 13.2 pounds.
Detroit locker for my 9".
31 spline Moser axles for my new locker.

Hopefully my axles will show up mid week and I will have a running car by this weekend! I cant wait to test the locker.

Where did you get your deck lid from? Mine is from Crites and seems to fit pretty good. Not kind of wavy on a couple sides but I assume that is normal for fiberglass.

This is a Crites trunk lid that i bought second hand but never used. It was a 340 mile round trip to go pick it up. So I have had a long day. I will put it on this week after the locker gets done. I am very happy with the initial quality.

Good to hear about the trunk lid quality, I have been thinking of also going this route, good way to save a few pounds. My only concern was the fit and finish of the fiberglass, I have seen some really ill fitting glass hoods.

I have their tear drop hood and it fits great. excellent quality as well.

Bryce, if you notice any of the pics I post my daughter is in 3/4 of them. It's actually really fun because she listens and does exactly as she's told, I think you have a garage buddy ,like mine, in the making.

Yep, my son who is 4 loves helping on the "old car." It is great time to spend together not to mention he loves everything tools and construction. Only thing to remember is to be careful as there are a million things they can find to hurt themselves with and everything is going to take 3 times as long if you let them help.

When my youngest daughter was about 5 she would walk into the garage, talk a huge breath and say " I love that smell". My wife would choke when she walked in.

I have noticed, I think that is really cool. I hope she enjoys what I like at least part of the time. When she is older she will be able to fit in places I cant and hold stuff for me. HAHA.

Yep, that is what everyone tells me. I am already thinking about what car we are going to build together, then she can drive that when she is 16.
