NASCAR / Camaro

awesome build!!!!
hate to be naive..... but why not go with twin turbos or the supercharger????
it seems like this car can handle wayyyyy more engine!!!

sorry if its a dumb question but im new to this stuff.

Thought about an exotic engine, like a twin turbo or supercharged but figured I would keep it true to the NASCAR roots and run a big ol' carbureted big block motor like they did back in the day. Can always upgrade down the road, and will probaby build a high reving small block as close to what they run today.............. but way down the road when the sting of paying for this whole project cools down!!

do they race those big nascar engines on super chargers??????

quick question, since you went balls out in trying to make this as nascar possible, & since your brother works for a nascar team, have you thought about getting a professional driver to take it to the Oval and go bananas with it?

i mean after you enjoy it for yourself & break it in and all ??

In the ol' days (read the 60s' and 70s') NASCAR used to run big C.I.D. motors - Ford used to run the 429 Cobra Jet (which became the street version Mustang Boss 429), Mopar had their HEMIs and I believe Chevy had the 454 and other motors.

My buddy has a crazy big screen LCD set up hooked to his computer and we play "GTR-2". Awesome game. Has VIR on it.

As far as a pro driver..........would love to have anyone of these drivers (#24, #48, #88 or #5) take a spin around Lowes Motor Speedway with the Camaro but I doubt A) they would have the time for it and B) their contracts probably prohibit "risky" situations such as high speed driving in an unknown racecar. Would be cool though.......

The car is actually in Denver, NC and will be complete (hopefully) this spring.

The rear cooler vent is not shown in pics but is run through trunk area along with fuel cell venting.......kind of a custom install.
