      Hey Guys,

The exhaust place that offers the inline mufflers is called “Car Chemistry” out of Waxahachie, Texas, (972) 937-7735 (www.carchemistry.com).

They have a variety of trick exhaust solutions for space constricted undercarriages.

Here is the link to what we used on my custom exhaust system -

      http://www.carchemistry.com/shop/ind...ct_detail&p=19

Another very good source for custom exhaust system components is “Specialty Products Design” out of Rancho, California, (888) 778-3312 (www.spdexhaust.com).

SPD does not offer mufflers, but practically every other neat item needed for custom installation. Check out their website or give Chris a call at SPD, super-helpful.

Here are a few pics of the motor form the dyno session (pulled 540HP) and after paint.

After all this time working on the project it feels great to actually see something with finish paint on it!!!!!

The exhaust has an in-line muffler (somewhat quiet - think flowmaster loud) then when the electric cut-out butterflies are opened it transforms into a full open exhaust system exiting through the NASCAR "boom-tubes" (very LOUD). The cool thing about the cut-outs is you can partially open/close them for a variety of "tones".

My neighbors will hate me all over again.

Note the great ground clearance. Lowest part of the car is the motor crossmember at about 5 & 1/2". Can go lower by adjusting the jack-screws.

Nice Idea I may have to somewhat steel it for my project.

      Hey Scott,

Just checking on the progress of your car???

      I REALLY like your exhaust!!!

First question - Where did you get your Boom Tubes??? Are they Dr. Gas or some other brand? I really like the size of them. I need to build something VERY similar for my car.

Second question - Who is the manufacturer of the electric butterfly cut-outs? Could you show us how you control them for "partial" opening???

Thanks for your time and I hope things are going well on your project!!

Whew - I love it. The great thing for me is if I can adapt any one small item into my own cars. I love the creativity and scope. How about producing that exhaust as a stand alone product?

The Boom Tubes and associated exhaust pieces were purchased through Hutch-Pagan Racing (704) 597-1372 - they are an all NASCAR parts supplier. Dr. Gas (https://www.drgas.net/) has them also.

The Electric Exhaust Cut Outs were bought from DMH Performance (http://www.dmhperformance.com/). They operate using a toggle style switch that can be partialy opened or closed depending on how long the switch is activated.

Here are some pics of the fully coated exhaust:

The Camaro project is picking up steam with the Chassis and Body in paint right now. Once all the paint work is done we can do final assembly! Very psyched!!!

Here are some shots of the chassis, body, motor, etc.

More to follow as all the parts come together.

Some wise guy said once - "You cannot rush perfection" - I am in agreement with him.

Do you have a picture from underneath the car with the exhaust mounted up? I am having trouble routing exhaust past the truck-arm crossmember and am interested in how you have yours set up. I'm also thinking about sidepipes as well.
Robert's 1969 Camaro - 2002 LS1/T56, 10pt cage, Global West Stage III front suspension, HTH truck arm rear suspension, Sprint Cup 9" full-floating rear end, Fikse Mach V 17" up front 18" in the back and still working on it...
