The trial is good for a week. But IF you dont close the program or turn off the computer than you can keep using it.

I ordered some adjustable motor mounts. This will give me a little more clearance between by radiator and the fornt of my motor. Plus they are a few pounds lighter.

Here is a comparison between my old solid motor mounts and my new adjustable ones.

Then I decided to make the plates that out of aluminum, that saved another few pounds.

no real updates, car is together and I need to drive it a little. I'm planning on being at the July 21 autocross. I want to dial in front suspension a little bit more... Hence the reason I need to drive it.

I picked up another car a 97 Dakota that is my new daily driver, I now have twins in the garage with my Durango and Dakota. The mustang is now the back up car, maybe even the backup autocross car. I hope everyoine elses projects are going well. Life has kept me off the forums recently....

I have not been keeping up on the site so this is a little late, but I have some experience with the type of understeer Bryce was having. My experience comes from setting cars up to only turn left, but the same principles apply. The rules of chassis set up say that solving understeer means less spring or less sway bar, but we did some extreme testing one day and found that you could create understeer by too little spring rate in the front. We called this a 'soft push'. What happens is that the spring gives so much (indicated by body roll) that it is not transferring the weight of the car to the tire and therefore you lose front grip. I found the spring affects the car more on corner entry and the sway bar affects the car more at mid-turn so the sway bar change makes perfect sense in this situation. The other factor in this equation is the balance between the front and rear roll centers. The front can roll so much that the rear suspension actually starts to resist the front roll. This can be what prevents weight from transferring to the front tire and it increases rear grip to make the problem worse. At the time we discovered the 'soft push' we were running a stock GM 4 link that has a notoriously high rear roll center. I would bet the reason some guys can make a lot of body roll work is because the rear roll center is lower than and it does not interfere with the front roll.

I spent the day dialing in the Falcon for the SCCA event next Sunday.

My front suspension is adjustable in every aspect and really allowed me to dial in the characteristics I will be trying this time.

I pulled in a little more caster and adjusted the suspension for more clearance with the inner fender. I also spent a lot of time measure my dynamic camber changes during turning. I now have 1 degree of negative camber gain at full steering angle. I ended up around 8.5 degree of caster and 2.5 degrees of negative camber. 8:1 manual steering is kinda tuff. Oh well I guess I will workout a little next week.

Tomorrow I will nut and bolt everything and the car will be ready for the 21st. See all the san diego guys out there!

Yes that's how it looks...SU has never had a large # of cars. But it has had some fast cars in the past. For last few years it's been a supercharged carbon fiber bodied Miata.More folks have a better understanding of SM and SSM rules and have gone that way instead of SU.The fast S/C Carbon fiber Miata is looking for competition and has gone to XP.His lap times are just 2 seconds behind Keisel's TURBO Rotary Sprite in EM.SU is a local Catch all class,For cars with lots of mods.with no rule book in mind. The rules are in the supplemental regulations on our local website.I think production car or kit car No true racing slicks any DOT tire is the only rule.

Dam 8.5 caster and 8:1 manual steering!?! Seems like an understatement to say its tuff but I believe you, is your scrub radius prefect then?
