I have a question that I have been thinking about for a few days, I took my 700r4 out of my g-body to put into my S10 that I will be road racing and autox with and I noticed the overflow/vent tube on top of the tranny was busted off. I was going to just ignore that and leave it as is, then I watched your video and read another post that you had left and about your tranny dumping fluid while you are beating on it when it gets warm. My question is this, do you think it would be worth it to figure out how to hook up a catch can to the vent tube, not sure how I would do that but I have a few weeks before the tranny will be going in the truck to figure this out.This is one of those things that if I can take care of it before it goes in the car life will be much simpler.

I would put this question in the the "Automatic Transmission" section. It is a good question. You might also want to ask around at different trans shops.



I thought that my big A S S Derale cooler with it's own dedicated fan would keep the trans cool.....not so much. I'm sure that my tight converter is adding to the heat though. Around town it gets to a max of 180...200 at an autox...and I hit 220-230 at Mid Ohio.
