Hey Bryce, Love the Falcon, keep on trucking, I'm getting some great ideas from you. Do you think you could measure that export brace you have in the falcon from the firewall to the top of the shock tower. I'm very interested in buying the same type but it would be going in a 1963 Falcon. I just want to make sure those measurements are the same before purchase. The web site says Falcon export brace kit so it sound like a all around fit. Thanks boss.

I am sure Bryce will beat me to it but I had a TCP one on my 64. I can measure it and see if it will fit when I get home. I can also make you a sweat deal on it if it fits your car....
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - Holy cow - what a ride!!!

      Thanks BadBird,

I will measure those tonight. I also will be designing new upper coilover mounts that will be lighter and I will be designing it to include my strut tower brace brackets. So I will have the brackets for sale at somepoint in the future, probably well after you need them!

I have the MPG heads version. I still dont like the rod ends on the montecarlo bar, I will also be redesigning those with solid connections.

Well no need to do the measuring. I called them and the guys said they fit all the way up to 65 that he knows. I went ahead and ordered it. Man I wish I would have known could have put the savings elsewhere in the car. Well you live and you learn. I appreciate it..
Bryce I doubt anything you do will be well after I need it. Im working on the better part of a decade getting this project completed. I would like to just copy everything you have done. Especially once you get the rack n pinion sorted out. I never liked the steering setup since i'm running a V8 on 6 cylinder junk. I would love to have a station wagon handling like a gocart. Hauling the wife and kids and groceries. LOL.

The firewall braces are 14.375" and the monte carlo bar is 29.125". I relocated the monte carlo bar to fit between the carb and distributor.

I am a slow worker too. I have been building my car for 11.5 years now. It has been through mulitple stages and stayed driveable most of that time.

You have a wagon? Awesomeness! I would love to build a 2-door wagon with all of my suspension under it.

I am still contemplating a rack or just a integral power box, like borgeson offers. If I go with a box I will be building my own tierods, roller idler and using a quickener.

Off to modify some axle retainers. I will be using a combo of currie and mark williams. I will post some pics when I am done. I will also have to modify the brakes to fit the thicker axle retainers.

Im also planning a switch to a fuel cell in the near future.

I finished the axle retainers. I just need some longer bolts, that I will pick up at my hardware store tomorrow morning.

I used the currie 360 degree plates that had a smaller ID than moser or mark williams. I cut the plates in half along the horizontal centerline. This was so that I did not half to press the bearings off and on. The ID of the bearing outer race is 2.485" the currie retainer plate ID is 2.25" I had to bevel the ID of the retainer plate so that it would not make contact with the polymer seal on the bearing. I am then backing up the Currie plates with the mark williams plates. Both are 1/4" thick.

I marked the plates as a matching pair after I cut them in half.

Installed with the short stock fasteners.

Coming along great Bryce. Looking at the tow hook... do you think it will brake the bumper if it flexes to the side while under tow?
Just wondering because of the fiberglass.

I am not anticipating alot of flex. Based on the offset from the center of the car and the winch being 10 foot away, there will be 1% of the load bending the tow hook. I will also be building an aluminum bezel to protect the fiberglass and clean up the looks.

Yep, but its a 4door. 2doors are hard to find. Once I get the 5.0/AOD buttoned up I want to get it handling better. I've been tossing around the heidts suspension, or rod and custom stuff, but I like the idea of a coilover setup, similar to your setup, that way I don't have to cut the strut towers out. The car has enough flex as is. I feel pretty good with the pics and stuff you provided, I could build that watts link setup and get it setup with coilovers. That would be sweet. Thanks for the info.

I am not a fan of a stock geometery MII without added structural support. Maybe I should start building extras of my control arms and complete suspension systems....... I have lots of interest. LOL.

      Rear Firewall

Here are some pictures of my firewall/trunk separator. Its aluminum and matches the NHRA firewall requirement. I just finished this up today.
