Nothing ground breaking, just a pair of tie down brackets for if/when I put this truck on a trailer...

      Just a couple...

The passenger side rocker and cab corner are finally in to stay!

And I bent/routed the AC lines through the core support.

I plan to start cutting on the driver side tomorrow but my wife has plans to plant roses and stuff. I'm curious to see how that's going to work out. lol

So today after work, I tore into the driver side rocker. As I was cutting the sheetmetal, it started smoking like it was on fire, strange I thought until I pulled the metal back...

      Oh well.

Fortunately I was able to get the rocker removed before dinner.

My 57 had rust in most of the same places, and then some. Build is coming along nicely. I know you will be real happy to be working in the new building. Looking good Buddy.

I plan to leave the paint in its current condition. As far as the ride, I've only driven one other car with an air suspension - ridetech's '66 Chevelle - and it rides very nice. I'm looking foward to it!

The driver side rocker and cab corner are finally done - for the most part! I still have to do some finish work and spray a little primer over it but I'm done cutting, fitting, and welding.

The rear cab support looked pretty good so I decided to leave it be. The front support however, looked bad.

Once I cut the bottom off and opened up the under cap support, all kinds of good stuff started to pour out.

Here's the new support bottom in place...

      Rocker fitment...

And here it is. I'm sure other people could have done a better job, but this is the first one I've done completely on my own and it think it turned out decent.

I got the cab corner in too. It still needs a little TLC around the seam...

Now that this is behind me, I'm going to get the inside cleaned up and spray bomb it, and then have the cab floor and rear bulkhead coated in Linex. Once that's done I'll actually get started putting this thing together!

Yes they do. I got them from Arizen Racing a long time ago. I don't think they make these particular seats any more.

      A couple minor updates...

I repositioned the factory motor mount frame stands to the "V8" location and set the P-Ayr engine and an empty trans case in place to check fitment. It all looks good and clears everything nice.

I also installed the Vintage Air A/C so I can see which holes on the firewall are no longer needed. I want to weld them shut and clean up the firewall a bit, maybe spray bomb detail the engine compartment.
