      '63 C10 daily driver

Now that Carol and I have settled into the new house and new jobs, we were finally able to take the garage from this:

      to this:

So that means I can get started on my C10! I can't think of a catchy project name for it, but my goal is to have it up and driving by the 1st of the year (possibly sooner).

I'm installing a complete Level II air ride system from ridetech (of course!)...

...along with brakes from CPP, the 454 and TKO600 from my El Camino, a Vintage Air system, new wiring from American Autowire, 18x8 and18x10 Intro Pentia wheels, 245/40-18 and 285/35-18 Nitto NT555 tires, and very little body work.

It's not much to look at, but I think it's going to be a fun project and even more fun to cruise around town and drive back and forth to work in.

I'll try to post regular updates!

Luv the old C-10's. I'm working on a 67 shortbox with Porterbuilt air suspension with Ridetech control system and 20" Billet Specialties. Good luck with the project!

How about flat clear on the paint and chrome bumper and grill? I will be watching this one.

I don't know about the clear, but I was considering having the bumpers and grille re-chromed - I can always do that after it's drivable.

How about do a coil over kit with this truck? I have a customer that has a 67 C10 that wants coil overs.

But other then that, cool truck. Leave the paint alone, and black out the bumpers, grille and trim.

His new gig is with ridetech so I am sure he will be putting the best of their offerings for the c10.

Bags have a much better ride quality, which is important in a daily driver. Also, he works for ridetech, so he get's that discount on all the awesome stuff.

I love C10 builds. I might sell my Camaro off for one after seeing the latest few.

I hope "very little bodywork " means washing it and installing headlights!
      .....because thats all it needs
but don't scrub too hard and take all the chalk off!
      I dig it!

We're in the begining stages of developing a coil-over conversion kit for the C10 chassis. I have no idea when it will be ready for production but it will be worth the wait if you prefer coil-overs.

I've never had air suspension on my stuff so I'm looking forward to this build. I measured the bottom of the rocker to the floor and it's about 14" in front and 15" in the rear. The air suspension should get the ride height down to around 4-5".

Definately a mild wash! The current paint is courtesy of the Phoenix sun for the last few years and I don't want to wash off all of its hard work!
The headlights are on the passenger floor. They don't do much good there, but that's where they are at the moment.

I cant wait to sell the C10 coil over kit.

You will be shocked how well the air ride will ride on that truck.

I did a little work on the truck tonight. I pulled the rear end cover off so I could remove the axles and I found what appears to be the original gear oil - or someone thought it might be a good idea to mix some wheel bearing grease in with the oil...

While I was in the garage I thought it might be a good idea to give myself some visual motivation so I set the engine in place to see how it fits.

That is a nice looking big block. I am glad you are leaving that well earned character, that is what I meant by spraying it with flat clear earlier. Preservation.

I think it would look awesome preserved with it's current patina (sp) as well... That engine looks good in there.

Thanks! I'll let you in a little secret... that particular big block is actually a P-Ayr plastic mock-up engine and it's just balancing on the crossmember! I wasn't sure how easy or hard it was going to be getting the real 454 in there so I picked up one of these plastic engines to make my life a little easier.
