Been working on this



Using 2" exhaust pipe for the gauges, they are 2 1/8" but the bender we have here at work has a stretcher so I adjusted it to stretch the pipe so it's a nice fit

I cut 4 short pieces of pipe for the gauges then cut this angled piece to trace so I could get the ovals right to in the panel so the pipes would be angled.

I was going to tig weld them all in from the front because I like the look of some nice tig welds, but my gaps were too big. I mig welded them from behind and filled the front in with body filler. It's not as perfect as I was going for but I'm tired of messing with it lol. It looks good though and I'll probably end up making another one down the road when I've decided what all is going into this thing. This one was good practice though.

Got my hoses crimped and installed a couple days ago. I screwed up at the compressor though. The fittings that go on the compressor were in my storage unit so I thought the high and low side fittings were on opposite sides and mocked up the hoses wrong. I got them to work with a little bending and I can get both hose connectors on for the AC machine, but it wasn't as pretty as if the fitting were opposite of how they are. These will get replaced later anyway when I add a bulk head to the firewall. I want to use a plate like Cris from JCG did on Blu Ballz.



Spent the last couple days wiring the AC and the radiator fans so nothing exciting there, all my wiring will be replaced later on too but it works for now.

Bought some dba C5 rotors to put on the front. I'm going to cut the drums off my hubs so the rotors will slide on, then make adaptors to use the calipers off my wrecked 00 I used for my 89 LS1 swap. Here are the rotors. They are being sold pretty cheap on ebay because dba switched to a new design

Nothing lately. bought a house in november, then went to Mississippi for a month for work. House is a dump so I've been working on it since I got back. 4 bd 3.5 bth, 2 car garage with attached 27x42 shop, big yard. It was a foreclosure so I got a decent deal. Last occupant smoked like a chimney so I've been scrubbing the walls and getting them ready for paint. ripped out all the carpet. So any way going to be busy with the house for a while and I got another job over seas so I'll be gone for a while. But I finally have my own house and shop so when I get back and get the interior of the house done I can finally take the car completely apart and fix the body. Plus I should have some money for parts thanks to the new job. Hoping to fix the body, build the suspension I want, put the t56 in, put my DFI on, get the brakes I want, and paint it. that will take care of everything but the interior and engine.

I'll make due with the engine, exhaust, and interior for a while. Haven't decided yet but I might widen it like the 68 JCG is building. I already plan to do my 68 like that so I might leave the 67 stock, but I've been to Cris's shop and loved how mean that 68 looked in person. Blue balls was there too and was much wider. I liked the subtle look of the Firebird a lot and would love to do it to my 67

Lol, nah don't plan to any time soon. I've got things in store for the 67 and 69 as soon as I'm done setting up my shop.

I like this look. The wheels are a very PT style which is cool. So what is the progress? Also how did the seats turn out? Did they last and are they good? I will be looking for some within the next year.

Thanks man, I really like these wheels and think they look pretty good on the car. It's funny how a set of wheels can look good on one car and stupid on another, so I'm glad I found a set I liked. The seats are currently just sitting in my house. They are definitely cheap. I've got some money set aside for some more parts so I'll probably be getting the Corbeaus that I want. I'll probably put the cheap ones in one of my other cars that are lacking seats.

I've been working on my house since March and I'm finally almost done with everything inside the main floor. Just wrapping up a few details in the bathroom now. I took the engine, trans, and axle out of the 67 and put the engine in my 72 TA clone. I picked that up a few months ago and the engine in it had some issues, so with the 67 apart I can at least put that engine to use and keep the 72 on the road for now. My 69 is on my rotisserie. I'm going to finish the mini tubs, floor patch and sub frame connects, paint the floor, and put it back on it's suspension so I can roll it around again. Then I'll get back to the 67. After all these years I finally have a place to take it apart and do the body work. I've got all the parts I need on hand. I've also got everything I need to build a new chassis and suspension, so I'll do all that, body and paint, and get it to a nice painted roller and work on saving for the engine I want to build and redo the interior as I go later on.

Here it is currently on my frame bench with all the drive train out.

Traven, a lot going on, been there. When remolding the house, leaves little time for cars but end the end it all gets done and well worth the wait. Awesome group of vehicles, can't wait to see the outcome. While your at it, throw up a few pics of the remodel. Good luck.

hey T, busy guy! Frame bench is looking good. I'm in the same boat with a new house. It really keeps you away from doing what we suppose to. But the end of the tunnel is there, some 2 more months and we can wrench again (parts on the way )Keep us updated.

Well it's been way too long since I've done anything to this car. This is my baby and I've had it for 18 years and haven't built it how I want it yet lol. I've been back in Afghanistan for the last 16 months with no plans to leave yet.

I needed the 67 back out of the shop, so I set it on a spare frame and rolled it out. I stashed most of my cars in the back too so I could have my driveway redone.



Since I have lots of down time here, and I'm only here for the money, I keep a spread sheet of my goals and, of car parts I plan to buy. I was just home a few weeks ago, so I bought a bunch of the stuff on my list that doesn't need custom measurements. This car is my biggest priority when I finally go home, so I want to get most of what I need on hand, ready to go, and once it's bought I can't spend the money on something else and delay this project further lol.

I already had C5 front suspension to build a sub frame with. I was always planning to build a 3 link in the rear, but decided I might like IRS better. Rear C5 suspension is cheap, so I bought a set (forgot to take a pic) to go with the front stuff. I think I'll need to modify the upper A arms, or build new ones, but the lowers and spindles should work fine. I'll be using a Mark VIII 8.8" IRS housing. They came in 28 spline, but the Ford racing 31 spline diff is cheap and a good upgrade. I bought a diff and new 33 spline C6/C7 hubs. I'm planning to run megasquirt and use the traction control feature. It just needs a wheel speed sensor on each end, so I bought 2 hubs with sensors, and 2 without since they are cheaper. The car needs rear frame rails and a trunk floor anyway. So I'm thinking I'll build a full frame, possibly out of round tube, rather than just a sub frame and tying it in with connectors. Even if I scrap the IRS plans, I can still use the hubs on a 9" housing with the oppropriate housing ends, and use the 8.8" diff on the TA that's getting a 8.8". So I went ahead and got the hubs and diff.





I've always planned to put 14" 6 piston Baer brakes on it. I ordered front and rear sets for a C5.



I didn't know if they'd fit my wheels, but they are the brakes I need to run, so I ordered without checking fitment. They just barely touch the caliper, so I'll have to run a little spacer. No big deal though. I stole the tires off the fronts for my GTA. I bought the wheels used and the fronts were only 8.5" wide with a 255 tires. I ordered new 1" wider inner rim halves. They aren't done yet, but I'll put those on with 275/35/18s up front and I've got 315s on the rear.

I ordered a T56 Magnum. It didn't show up until after I came back over here, but my wife sent me a pic of the box lol.



I've now got most of what I want. Coilovers, drive shaft, and axle shafts will have to wait until I've got the suspension set up. I'll still need paint, sway bars, a bunch of stainless bends to build some headers and exhaust, and various little things.

I'm planning to build an all aluminum 505 Pontiac. That's a big chunk of change, so I'll wait to buy all of that until I'm ready for it. Not sure when I'll go home for good, but I need to wrap up a few small projects and then finally fix the body and build the chassis. I want this thing done by our 20th anniversary lol. Where does the time go? It's crazy to think I've had it 18 years, and worse is that it was only drivable for maybe 4 years total.
