I think your right Dave, only you got WAY deeper into yours, I only wish I could go frame off with the Monte.

      Dave,
Thats how My Malibu started out. As just a paint job. Then I thought..shiney paint and a ugly engine...It snowballed from there to a frame off. LOL

Good luck Andy. Its for the best. As the old saying goes..Any thing worth doing is worth doing right.

      Thanks Jochen.

Dave, as far as frame off goes, time is never an issue space is the issue.

I'm doing this build in stages, this being stage I.

Stage II includes, Frame off, coil over front suspension, 8" wide wheels in the front, and a 9" or 12 bolt, baer brakes all the way around, etc... So frame off and paint are coming soooon. I'll start all that this winter.

As far as what I have accomplished this weekend, I'll post pictures tomorrow morning.

I think this project is living up to its name! I suggest a name change to get things moving in the right direction.

It sure is living up to its name, thats all part of it I guess. Good news is, my long block should be on its way here in about a week so things may be looking up.

Youngdeezy. Thanks for the suggestion of your taillight guy. 796bu has them right now, so they are in good hands.

Its time to bring this back from the dead, and I think everyone who has been watching this thread will like this update.

Tuesday, the Fed Ex man brought me a present...

      On the stand.

Double wrapped, engine bag and plastic sheeting.... Because Bondo dust is like sand in the desert.

Its a 383 stroker rated at 450hp/430ft lbs tq. I can't not wait to hear this thing roar to life in Nightmare's engine bay.

That is the major new for the moment. If you have questions about the motor let me know.

In other news, here is what my front frame looks like.... again.

The rest of the frame looks the same... Its bare again to be POR-15'd.
The paint I had on it, even after having etching primer on it was rusting under the paint.... So I'm gonna do it right this time. Lesson learned, just do it right in the first place.

Stay tuned guys. I will have more updates to come VERY soon. I want this thing back on the road in time for summer cruising. I'll just have to wait until the fall to have it repainted.

Damn nice move man, your on a all new level now. por-15 is the way to go and ive done my rear so the rest of the frame will have to be the same.
