Size: 191.4 KBSome of the drivers off this site are now winning trophies with SDR-SCCA.Tom has 2 first place trophies Dan won one last year and more this year .Alcino also won a1st place last year.Rich a 2nd and Matt also a trophy. Many ask,"What do our trophies look like?" Many possibilities, some stand up trophies to placks ,to coffee cups ,some with a photo of your car.Sweat shirts one of my favorite trophies was a helmet bag.It was nicely made with embroidery of SOLO2 SCCA and my name and birthday..I won on my birthday. So it was cool..I left it behind one day with helmet in it..never saw it again.

In pic of past trophies. The glass ones and large one are year end points trophy. Now year end points trophy is a jacket.I don't know if you get both.

Impressive George! We are waving off on the two track days and taking advantage of this down time in Autocrosses for the next three weeks to make some big changes, Rich has some suspension upgrades on the Mustang, and Tyler new shocks and Fiberglass pieces on the Fairlane. I'm sure Bryce, Dan, and Matt will have something new by the Spet 22nd date. I'm starting on the Valiant project, no more 2013 Mustang next year, I found a car as old as I am, so I understand it better. Hopefully it will be all Valiant in 2014!

      SAN DIEGO AUTOCROSS Sept30 Oct20 Nov18

got the rear axle centered on my hoopty and been in heavy contact with Jack Hidley at Maximum Motorsports (the largest suspension supplier for '79+ mustangs). He's getting me on track to counter-act the issues I'm experiencing with the car, should be coming out next event with very minimal changes that will make the car drive much more smooth.

Didn't you raise the rear roll center and go up in spring rate last time? What will your new spring rate be?

I did raise the rear RC. I did not like it, rear was loose on corner exit and I still had too much body roll. The last event I increased my front springs from 400 to 500. This time I will raise the rears from 225 to 300 and lower the rear RC.

The front stopped pushing. I just need to get the car easier to drive and then LEARN to drive.

Congrates to Jason Rhoads. He took his 67 Camaro to the SCCA Pro Solo Finals in Nebraska and made it into the Trophies.Next up is the SOLO2 National Finals in a few days. His info is at thread 67 Camaro SCCA build (J-rho) In results each competitor has their tire choice listed in their results. It worth looking into.It comes down to What's the best Tire Choice,In ST classes, the size you want or need to meet rules.

      Hello George,

We made the trip down to attend the So Cal Challenge and had a great time. While there we met up with Tom & Tyler and enjoyed the day at their pit area.

Yes we had a great time with George and his lovely wife, Tyler on the Fairlane with new shocks and Rich as a spectator, and of course Matt A in the 315s all around Camaro. Matt A won the old car class, I came in second in the new car class. Not happy about it as the 650HP new 2014 Shelby that beat me was pretty stock...

I plan to make the next SO CAL Challenge up north( Camarillo).Sounds like another fun group to run with! Also if some are interested there is a Cal Club SCCA event in El Toro coming up.They switch back and forth between California Speedway Parking Lot and El Toro for their events. for their events go to "SOLO2.com" simple

Our next San Diego SCCA event is Sept 22 next weekend. What will be different then most of this years events ,is the race class schedule. PT-SU, SM class and ESP Class will now race in the morning..So sleeping in is over for last few months.Dan W with the drive he makes never got to sleep in.Now Dan even earlier you have to get up.I'm glade you enjoy our events enough to make the trip out..plus the cool cars you bring!

SU-PT,SM classes WORK GROUP 1 Run 2.I'd say be there before 8am 7:30 if your changing tires. You have to walk course,Register, Tech before 8:50am... In the mornings there is a register line that can take 20 minutes to get through. Just Giving Heads Up on it.

ESP Class Work 2 run 3 I suggest 8am, earlier if changing tires to avoid being rushed. first thing walk the course you can wait till 9am to register and tech if you want..BUT you must walk the course before course walk is closed at 8:50.YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RUN IN MORNING IF YOU DON"T WALK THE COURSE.SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE! You can sign up for later in the afternoon to.As none class X or another class that fits your Car/Truck

Members pay 30.00 none members pay 50.00, 20.00 of that is for trial weekend membership. The 20 is a payment for a membership if you choose to be a member in 2 months time.

30.00 gets you 4 laps with additional laps at end of day at 3 laps for 5.00 time permitting."FUN RUNS" more then 10 laps are possible at this event. The Good Guys Del Mar( November) is only a couple months from now.WE have a few autocross days before then.TRack time is the best way to bring down LAP TIMES.

More info at SDR-SCCA.com/solo also our FACEBOOK SAN DIEGO SCCA AUTOCROSS. we draw 160 drivers plus per event in more then 40 different classes..We have one for you guaranteed.

only changes i had were 25# spring rate increase and new bumpstops. The car did exactly what it was told, I've found the car's sweet spot, now I just gotta drive it better. Watching the video from my best run, there's at the very LEAST a second of time that I'm losing out on. I honestly think this car had 64's in it with a good clean and fast run with no mistakes. Oh well, I'll get there, a 66.755 is still pretty good for me.

What did you guys end up running? I watched you guys as I was cleaning up but I had to bail asap since I'm back in school now and need the time to study haha

You had a fast drive Brett..I was stuck doing 66.9s wasn't till my 3rd FUN RUN that I did a 66.7. You were faster then the rest of us,you can see you were on fast laps on your 3rd and 4 lap. . Tom told me a FS did make in into the 66s.A stock Mustang Hoosiers that's also impressive..BTW F-STOCK are going to Street Tire Rubber next year. There might be some slightly used Hoosier up for sale soon.
