Here's another picture of the 1970 Javelin we built about 4 years ago. Drivetrain is a little more extreme than the 73 AMX and has a 4-speed, so it's a kick to drive, and carves the corners pretty well too. I also included a picture of the fronts of the cars nose to nose to show the difference in the stance as well as the difference between the 1st and 2nd generation cars. The Orange Javelin is a Mark Donohue edition clone. If you recall, Mark Donohue was the most winningest driver in the original Trans Am series. He won the series in 1968 and 1969 in a Camaro and then switched to AMC for the 1970 year. He won the Tran Am series in 1971 and 1972 in a Javelin, and missed the win in 1970 in the Javelin by one point losing out to the Bud Moore Mustangs. 2501 "Mark Donohue" Javelins were built to homogulate the rear spoiler, engine block for legal use in the SCCA Trans Am series. Both cars have front coil-overs and are lowered 2.5+ inches from stock

I really like the tasteful look you have achieved with the car.

It doesn't scream come over and look at me, it catches your eye, an makes you want to come over and check it out.

      AMX Build Slide Show

Recently I made a musical slide show for ColoradoAMX to the build of the Pewter '73 AMX showing what he started with and the progression. It's set to the "Mission Impossible" Theme.

      The link is: http://www.photodex.com/share/cammy/p9xm8mg4

      It's pretty cool!

Very cool, love those old AMC's. Actually do some work for a driver who drove one of the 3 Penske Javelins in 1972. His name is Bill Collins, I believe he won the Rookie of the Year title that year.

I remember that guy's name. I believe he drove one of the independent AMC teams in the Trans Am.

I think some of the other drivers for AMC in the Trans Am were Peter Revson, Former Mustang Driver George Follmer and occasionally, Bob Tullius.

I think you guys are "Great" simply in the fact that you appreciate a really cool car no matter what it is and you actually "Get It" and see all the subtle nuances to this car from the color, to the accents, the Stance, to the presentation without being over the top!
