Here's a couple recent pictures: the one picture was taken at night after we unloaded the car at the Nationals in Detroit last August. I love the picture because you can see the stance and the polish on the wheels really pop at night

It's been a while since I've done an update on the Silver Bullet. Here are a few pictures of the new Milodon Road Race oil pan that is going on the car in a couple weeks. It is a new design from top to bottom. It is available with internal pick-up or external configurations. The one pictured is with an external pick-up. I have the Canton roadrace pan on one of my pro-touring Javelins, as well as the Aviaid pan on one of my other AMCs, and now the new Milodon pan will go on the Silver Bullet. Of all of them this is perhaps the best design, and best value for the money. It is a no expenses spared design, incorporates 5 trap doors and a healthy external pick-up design. This is comparable to the high quality Aviaid pan, but is less expensive, and has the unique 5 trap door design. The welds are heavy, and the plating is next to perfect. In my experience, this is WAY better design than the Canton road race pan, primarily due to the position of the external pick-up bung. On the Canton, the pick-up is on the bottom of the pan, and interferes with headers if so equiped. The Milodon pan has the external bung high up so that it will not have interference issues, and provides plenty of clearance for access the the fitting without interfering with the motor mounts. As I mentioned earlier, this is a new disign from top to bottom, guaranteing excellent fit and quality. It is priced at between $430 and $500 depending on where and how you buy it.

Really looks like a nice pan. Looking forward to seeing the installation and how well the external lines run with the headers.

      Scott,

Thought I sent you a PM but not sure it went. Doesn't show up.

Send me a PM and I'll try to help.

Don’t know how complete you ’71 Javelin is and what you’re going to do with it style wise.

Things to know when looking for stuff:

’71 tail lights style are ’71 only. ‘72’s will fit but different look.

Your ’71 big plastic grille will work for an AMX grille screen but the screens are VERY hard to find.

The interior seat styles are similar from ’71 to ’72. The plastic seat backs are reproduced as is the upholstery.

The dash and interior panels are essentially the same from ’71 to ’74.

Let me or coloradoamx know what you may need.

The coloradoamx "Silver Bullet" and my car are similar, but different. I worked with him on the Bullet and am humbled by it.

      Scott,

Also here is an update on the Silver Bullet. Beyond receiving the new Milodon Road Racing pan, he installed the New Control Freaks front suspension system for AMC's with Rack 'n Pinion and coil-overs!

      Absolutely gorgeous car!
Today I was at Lowe's picking up some bolts, and a woman approached me about her sister's car (I was wearing a Bulldawg shirt). Seems she has a '74 Javelin AMX, black on black, that was her late husband's, and its now for sale. I'm going to check it out Thursday if anyone's interested. She said it needed some brake work (which we are going to do), but that it ran and drive nice otherwise. Sorry for the hijack, back to the thread! Just thought it was funny to see a similar car here the same day.
