This sounds simple and easy, but wiring is fairly difficult for most people to tackle. It takes a lot of knowledge to convert a harness make it "standalone." Some of these junkyard harnesses are getting to be quite old and brittle.

So I was talking to FiTech today and got the scoop on a new system that should be out in the next 30-45 days. This will be their Go Street version, which will be selling at $795!!!

What they are doing is using injectors to support up to 400 HP, no timing control (which many of their customers are not using with their higher series units), no boost or nitrous control. It still has the self learning, wide band O2 sensor and much of the same functions that the 600HP unit has.

This is going to put a very affordable EFI system in reach to so many folks who thought it would be too expensive. Heck, add their Fuel Command center and you won't need to do any fuel tank mods. I am hoping to get one of the first of the Go Street units!

That will cover 90% of the cars on the road.

The clamp on O2 sensor bung is a fail. I don't understand how you can create a 100% leak free system using big band clamps. This is critical, because any air leaks will give a false lean signal and thus richen the AFR more than it needs to be.

There is a gasket between it and the pipe.

Yep. You can also weld the piece on. Nice for folks who don't have a welder. You can install it with clamps then take it to a shop to weld it later.

Partnering? That does not sound good...partnerships are for the weak and they were looking pretty strong up to this point.

Nothing was said about partnering. They were installing shelf units to handle the 3000 new Go Street units coming in. I can't see them needing to partner with anyone as they are selling as fast as they can get units.

I tried calling them twice today about ordering the 1050hp port injection set up, I still have the 8 injector TB set up sitting in the box I received a few days ago..No one answered the phone. Went back and forth a few times via Facebook, but never heard back on my last questions..I wanted to know what size injectors they are using, so I know what headway I have with them. Im assuming the injectors can easily be upgraded down the road if there was a need for larger injectors (i.e. boost under E85).

Im very interested in buying the port injection from them instead of the 8 injector TB unit. Ill try to call them again tomorrow.

Someone mentioned here regarding the aeromotive tank/pump set up having problems with heat. I have not heard anything regarding that. And I do not know what would cause that. The pump they are using isn't a huge pump to heat up the fuel significantly.

      70 turbo Cougar Fitech running

I've had the turbo since 2006, but I couldn't tune out a bad lean backfire problem with the blowthrough carb. After hours and hours of tuning I got tired of spending money on it, so it sat for years. Had kids, started a company etc. Then one day I found the Fitech website. It was an easy choice for me. Spend money on the carb, or spend a little more on the Fitech kit and gain easy tuning, timing control, fan control and data logging etc. So this was going to be a birthday present (March) then a Christmas present and then quickly became a Thanksgiving present?! My car is close to 500 hp at the fly which is about the max a 5.0 block can take before splitting down the middle, so I got the 600 hp kit. I already had a 255 lph external efi pump and a return line on the car so it was a simple install. I plan to upgrade the fuel system later on. I have sold some carb stuff already for $500 which makes this an even better choice.

I drove it a few times. A huge difference from before. I have some tuning questions and will call after the holidays. Fitech needs to setup a forum board for customer support. The car runs cooler with better throttle response. I have to mess with the gas pedal cable linkage stuff. The pedal is too high and too sensitive off idle, but no big deal.

Since blowing the head gaskets twice before, I am very cautious with crappy CA pump gas and boost on my car. I kept the timing back and lots of fuel in it. So I was getting onto the freeway to do some boost tuning. It was a gradual right bank. Idiot alert! I was in 2nd gear going 35 ish and romped it. It seemed to fall on it's face not doing much, so I let off and got on it again. Well this time it must have self tuned because the boost came on really fast, caught me by surprise, spun the tires and I spun off the road backwards. I came 2 feet from the metering light pole. I was high sided and stuck in the dirt but hit nothing. To make a long story short, a buddy towed me out while 3 Highway patrol officers stood there watching. They were way cool, and believed my story of "just loosing control because it's an old car". with smirks on their faces and then talked cars, guns etc. That was 3 weeks ago and haven't driven since. Now it's raining here. I plan to go to a dyno shop in March. The software doesn't seem to work with Windows 10, so I will go back to Windows 8 to checkout the data logging stuff.

      Here are my car videos.

Thanks Tom for the link..After Christmas I will call about pricing for vaporworks tank set up. Im curious the cost for my tri-5. I do like in there diagram it shows dual pick up tubes so you dont have to worry so much when fuel level is below 1/2 tank.

Maybe partnering was the wrong term, but the guy in the fitech booth definitely told us they were working with edelbrock on mpi setups using edelbrock intakes and fuel rails.

Okay, I'll buy into that since FiTech doesn't manufacture intakes and fuel rails. I know they are coming out with a MPI setup and are likely going to work with Edelbrock for these parts. As for the TBI style systems, those are in house.

well yeah its not as easy but its worth it to not spend a grand imo. you could use the harness from a truck as late as 2014 and you have a trans control if your running a auto gm variant.

This article stated they would have a kit with weld on bungs for your intake or a kit with a Edelbrock intake with bungs installed.
