Dale Sr's car in the last pic is a 1999 Monte Carlo Winston Cup car exactly what my car originally would have looked like in its racing days other than paint....if it had a front end on it. haha
Front spoilers are easy to make and easy to mount. I may have two or three different ones.

I had a similar front spoiler on my '66 Malibu back in the day. Really was hoping to get more air through the radiator, but it's amazing how much more stable it made the car above 90 mph. And I was usually above that on my way back to college in western NE after a weekend at home( the good old days when driving a little spirited wouldn't get you a felony).

Nothing like hauling ass on the open road with a musclecar. Used to do lots of that with my chevelle posted in post #1. I hear ya on the felony part though.

I'll try to digitize some old pics of my Chevelle in the early '70's. I've been working on it on and off for the last 43 years. I guess I should start a thread if I get enough pics on the computer.

Its a bona fide Nascar stock car underneath, the fenders are cut and the tires hang. It is not a Trans Am car.

      Seriously thanks for checking in!

Havnt had much time to work on the car but I got the accessories sorted out. The power steering pump will have a remote resovior.

Awesome build, skipped around a bit but got most of the big points like tons of power, proven suspension, big brakes and 3 pedals in a 69 Chevelle what more could you ask for to terrorize the streets with. Good work so and and good luck with a smooth build process.

Ditched the fabbed valve covers because they weren't old school enough. Still have to decide and drill for breathers. "Nascar approved" 830 cfm carb. Brand new, just bought it. Light weight, low drag, super trick "race" alternator turned out to be the box stock item on an '89 Geo Tracker haha

Got engine in may have to dimple the right side header just a bit. Oil pan hags down 1/4 to 3/8" below engine cross member. David and I have been discussing a skid plate for under there so that would take care of that. Many Cup teams do this today. Hood lays right down flat on top of the carbon fiber air cleaner so no hood modifications required! Whew! Even though the headers are custom there is no real guarantee of fitment. All in all Im very pleased Ive been sweating this stuff for a couple of months, especially the hood.

Fitting the twin 3.5" oval tube exhaust system. Looks like I will have to clearance the front edge of the mufflers to tuck it up the way I want it. The Monte Carlo body flared out below the window then went straight down. The Chevelle body bows back in towards the bottom so I'll have to cut off the ends of the tailpipes so they wont stick out.

On to plumbing. After much deliberation Ive decided, left to right. Firewall mounted valve cover puke can. Ive been assured simply having breathers mounted in the valve covers will not work. With the G's this car will produce oil would be forced out of the breather and on to the headers, not good. Next, power steering pump resovior. Oil cooler (obviously) which will be mounted in front of the rad its 15x9x3" and a firewall mounted coolant recovery tank with a vent at the base of the windshield. Still fooling with the exhaust btw but it's getting close.
