I finally started working on the car again, with temps hitting 116 I have been putting it off. I purchased a set of Heidts subframe connectors to help tie everything together, and new parts always helps motivate me.

The Connectors are very nicely built, but didn't fit as close as I wanted so I redrilled them to fit up closer to the rail.

      Motor mounts

I was able to get the motor mounts tacked and see where the engine was going to sit. It seems to fit around the rack better than I though it would which is a problem I thought I was going to have. I have been considering setting the motor back appox. 5". I currently have a Vortech supercharger and the drive pulley sets around 3/4" from the radiator, which I can deal with. But I'm thing of switching to a F2 Procharger with a cog set up and would like to run a inter-cooler on it. So the extra space could be helpful.

LOL, I'm hoping. The F2 is only cause I have the opportunity to pick one pretty reasonable. And you cant beat the sound of something that sounds like its going to suck the car in front of it in the intake pipe. I had almost talked myself out moving the motor back because I want to drive it again, its been probably 3 years since the last time I drove it. But I was thinking 5" inches would get the oil pan behind the rack, and I would cut the center section of my cross-member out after I attached a tubed "U" section that would bend around the hump in the oil pan.

After a hard lesson learned of making absolutely sure your car is level before you weld in your subframe connectors, I had to cut them back out and reinstall them. But on a positive note I moved them up higher to prevent any dragging.

I'd do the engine set back now since your so far deep into the project.

I picked up my project car from another guy and he didn't set the engine back. I'm having a hard time with lack of room in front of the engine now.

Lack of time sucks, but it looks like you got a nice set-up at your place?

      BTW...what part of SoCal?

The more times I look at it, the more I want to move it back, as of now between the supercharger and the radiator I only about 1". I cant complain having a lift is a huge help. I live in Ridgecrest, it on your way when you head to Death Valley

I started on building the 4-Link the other day and its coming along, I swear it took me 3 hours waking back for around the car to finally get it leveled and the rear end centered. But I started with the lower links first, it just seemed like they would be easier.

The upper I made a cross member to mount across the car to attach to.
