Thanks for all of your opions guys I gave it a lot of thought today and I have to move on staying mad makes me miserable. With all the help I have got in the past years from this board its make it a little easier. All the pms from all the sites we use you guys are great. I'm meeting a highly recommend painter from this site tonight and if I can afford it I will have it redone. I not going to make anymore comments of the previous work done or the shop name. I feel as though posting the close up pictures of stuff at the shop will not help anyone. Lets get fixed and then I can enjoy it someday.

Please do not close this post so I can keep the progress of the car going. I do not want it to be closed like team camaro for so many new to the board today members posting.

i would be sick if this was my car. not saying that the shop is at fault or not doing their best to resolve it but i would be sick if i picked my car up with paint chips and then had someone push my wife. that employee should be fired on the spot no matter what!!! (based on his version of the truth)

If you spent $40,000 for paint, parts and labor you should not have any problems what so ever. You car should be perfect!! I`m very sorry that happened to you sir.

its truly hard for me to have sympathy if we dont see what youre talking about..

I know of another painter that had a problem with a guy because he just wanted to have something to complain about, and i saw the car myself and wondered what was he griping about..

not saying that youre not telling the truth its just hard to see youre claims if they might be "hyped up"

the.. pics.. would.. tell.. YOUR.. story.

besides.. these post pretty much crucify Chopshop Customs.. so i think they deserve the evidence before they are nailed in.

you really should post the pictures. I might make you feel better.

Also you should always give the shop a chance to fix it; he's offered, what is the worse that can happen?

If all you are complaining about is the paint and he did a great job on the rest; let him fix it. I saw the pictures of the rest of the car and it looks like great work to me.

After Looking at those pictures; he got a steal at $40k including the parts.

      That's really nice work.

If there are flaws in the part I'd be curious to see them and wonder how they got there. Even so you offered to fix them. I wouldn't have let the car leave your shop until it was right; I also wouldn;t have paid you until it was right.

I've got about $50k into my car when all is said and done. I hope it turns out that nice.

The customer was adamant on taking the car so I didnt stop him. It was his choice. Glad you like what you see. Makes me feel a bit better after reading this post today....

Again- I stand behind my work and have offered to work with him for whatever he feels isnt acceptable. My door is open - its up to the customer now . Dont know what else I can do but offer to help , which is what I have said all along.

Why not let him fix it? It's your money and all, but give the guy the opportunity.

Sure it looks an awesome work, and I am not trying to blame anybody, but flaws and the bubbles the owner was talking about can only be seen if the pics are taken very closely. I am sure that's what the owner has done..

I hope this gets sorted out because it really sucks paying lots of $$ and not getting what you expect.

i am sorry to see that such a nice car is at this point.Awsometool have you lost all faith in the shop?if not he does deserve the chance to moke the imperfections right.i see he offered to fix it after his sema rides.how long will that be?dont be in a rush to pay someone else when it can be fixed for free.and chopshop customs i think you should fix theses issues asap.i only say this since i am self employed and if my guys srcew somethig up that i have been paid for the repair tkaes priority.it is a beautiful car so be paitient and get it done right before you rush off to get it on the road.just my opinion.

What a shocking 180* turn. Everything was fine and everyone was happy, then it all went South.
Chips? Where exactly??? I'd like to know. It all sounds too fishy to me. If it did need a few toutch-ups, then the car should never have left. It's been there this long for the whole process, what's another few weeks???
I can't believe it was wenched up on a roll-back, I find that the most shocking. What part of the car was it tied to??? I hope you have insurance on your life's avings to leave in the hands of those guys.

There's always two sides to a story and I get the impression that some indecisions were made. The SS hood was back on again??? What's that about? I know what hood my car will have, and when it's in final paint, it surely won't be swapped around just to see what it would look like some other way. I now get the impression that Lenny threw in a lot of "freebees" for good faifth.
Plans change, "extras" are added, it lengthens the build. Time is money, I'm one that surely understands that. SEMA is big business (we've all seen the TV rodder shows on how much of a big deal it is), having a car there is the ultimate in exposure. Lenny has 2 on the way??? That sounds like a priority to me, a wise business decision. If he needed a few weeks to tie up some loose ends, a few weeks wouldn't have hurt your schedule.
The big question was never asked. Is this a show car or will it be a true driver??? Something of this caliber looks too risky to be driven. I was at the Bimmer (BMW) dealer one day when a convoy of transporters drove in. All the trailers were sheathed in canvas, the cars were enclosed (I found that interesting). You had the car on a wrecker, Lenny hauls 'em enclosed. Hmmmmm. The final payment was made, you had the car hauled away, it's your puppy now.
I hate to hear how things ended up, I just hope it all turns out in the end.

It's a 15-footer paint job, was that a Chinese ruler? It looks closer than that to me to me.

now i just looked at the photos chopshop put up and MAN.. you gotta show what youre talking about..

dude.. that car looks GREAT to me.. the paint looks VERY good.. and the installs on the parts REALLY look good, alot more than the 40k mark i think.

and i do think youre insane for taking it away on a wrecker...

also im not hating on you at all.. but i feel bad if the mans name gets dirtied by some rediculous claims that (after looking at a gang of pictures) seems so unfounded.

post up your photos.. SHOW what youre talking about man..
its pretty much bad enough with these claims.. at least you can back it up with the photos.

Awesometool - I gotta say the car looks pretty sic in Lenny's slide show! I'm glad SOMEbody posted some pics today (granted those pics are about the size of a business card and 2D on my monitor so judging a paint job from em is - well - impossible..) Since you and Lenny are apparantly not going to be drinking buddies anytime soon iv'e got a couple of other options for ya.

Take it to a third party painter with a rep for show quality work and get an estimate to fix what you think is wrong. Then post it here so those of us in the cheap seats will know if your making mountains out of mole hills or if the work was sub "maaco" to begin with.

Another option would be to convince yourself that the paint is perfect as is and move on with finishing the car off and enjoying the rest of the build. Then, when you roll it out for shows, it if anyone pops off "damn, are those bubbles in the clear? that must suck!" than you can flip them a Chop-Shop Customs business card and know you've done your good deed for the day...

I can read the sign on the trailer, I can see the rivets in the trailer. The fold up chair w/the yellow trim, it can bee seen in the reflection.
      Well said, Texan.

If the owner of the car can't post pics showing him complaint then this thread is useless and will be locked.

An accusation has been made and it's time for the accusing party to show his proof, or at least what he feels backs up his claim.

It's only fair. I, more than anyone, know how a picture can hide a thousand sins and while those pics look great there could be "issues"

The owner needs to show those issues or just delete this thread, start a new one about his car and just move on.

There's a reason this thread keeps getting locked on other boards, because it goes nowhere.. (insert shrug here)

Love the color, love the car.. hate the interweb bickering..

It will stay open if you refrain from posting another post like #110. There is obviously an issue between you and the body shop, however, airing this out on a forum where very few people know either party is just dumb IMO. We all hate there was/is an issue, but the shop owner has offered a olive branch, either take it or stop talking about it. One more outburst and this puppy is closed and moved.

Others opinions about what really happened, including mine without all the facts are worthless anyway.

Once progress starts back on the car, let us know, until then, everyone needs to chill.

Well said Steve. Being rather new on this site I'll tread lightly. There can not be a 'winner' in a public debate of this nature. All other members of this site will never understand the 'relationship' that took place between vendor and consumer in this issue from beginning to end. Pics or not, who's to say. Not our deal.
You can't settle this here.Take it private, chill out (easy for me to say) and settle it...nice ride, almost finished, don't rush...it's not drive thru. it's a almost perfect ride!
