      It's been 10 days - isn't it done yet!?

Any assembly progress since the paint dried?

      Sweet Color

I just painted mine 3 weeks ago in the garage - tough as nails color to paint, 4-6 passes to get coverage. I ended up spraying 3/4 of a gallon base unredused (1 3/4 reduced) just on the outer body shell.

Looks good at night, but rocks in mid-day sun.

I agree it looks nice when inside but outside in the sun it changes completely. I like outside better but some people have the opposite opion. I love how it changes shade as the sun hits it. I like house of colors but I'm glad I used this it would have been a little to much bling bling for me. Do you have any larger pictures of you car? It looks great!!!!!

Awesome color in the sun. Everything looks great.

First off, the car was down to 100% bare metal (as were the other builds in his shop). Perfection is never cheap and it looks to me like you got a hell of a deal. Yes $40K is a lot of money, but in the time of $100K+ restos, it doesn't sound like a rip. There is a difference in crafting metal and working bondo. Lenny is a true craftsman, any monkey can slap bondo in a freakin dent.

I have a friend that submitted pics of his car to a magazine. He was told that it was only good enough for the "reader's rides" section. So, when your car makes it to a cover story, who's gunna have the last laugh???????

My Camaro was in bare metal, now it's primered. I built a custom frame, added modern suspension, mocked in engine/tranny, building this, modding that, etc... The to-do list never seems to get shorter. Once it's all put together it'll have to be torn apart for final paint/detailing. One day mine will be where yours is at.

Don't mind the skeptics, Lenny. They don't realize that builds of this caliber have to be built twice. Making the underside look as good as the top is even more work, making that $40K seem like a bargain.

Excellent work. It'll draw crowds and win shows.

      Keep us posted.

Thanks Texas- Im realy glad people like the car. Just got a Murray Pfaff rendering done of it and I am getting some pro pictires taken today to be submitted with the article for a mag. Keeping my fingers crossed!

If all goes well and it progresses as it should (which I cant see whay it wont) I want to bring it even more worked on to the East Coast Camaro show in Nashua NH Sept 9 th (?- I think thats the date).
Not moving it anywhere right now- truck and trailer are down ....
Just found out yesterday a 49 Pickup I did last year is in a 5 page spread in Primedia's Classic Trucks next month. Its a good week!

No one's comented on the nice wheels. The Budnik Ice wheels complete the whole package, nice offset on the back. What are the secs on the wheels and the fat Pirelli P Zero Rosso rubber ?

The rims specs I got directly from Detroit speed rear 18" x 12" 5.5 back space, fat lip, 1/2" mounting pad, 1/2" lug and they provided the rear end width specs, front are 18" x 8" , fat lip 1/2 mounting pad, 7/16 lug. The pirelli's are zero's 335/30r/18 rear 500.00 each ouch, front are 245/35/18. The ice style rim are a little blingy but they will look good with all the stock trim. When I get it bak it will still take me a couple of months to finish interior, trim, brakes, ? fuel injection and so on hopefully by January 2008 it will be done but not sure on that. It will be stange to have it back in the garage me and my son spent so many hours sand blasting frame, taking all the paint of the body and the the floor pans with a 2" disk. Still wish I stripped the under side of the car though.

Price seems fair to me as well. Look at what a top notch restomod brings. Their is one on ebay right now that has already hit 85k and has 5 days left. They aren't cheap to build right from the ground up. By the way killer car!!!!!!!

what is fair to ask for on body lines I want to know if I'm being a pain in the ass since I know I can be picky? I have tried my best to make the car top notch and spent my life savings on it.
