The car looks amazing. Can't wait to see completed pics.

Everyone seems to be freaking about the cost and its way out of my buget too but did you guys not notice the parts that were included in that price? Most shops of that caliber are 80-120 per shop hour and to do all the mods, buy the parts, and all the paint and body work its really not that bad.

Hi there- Im the guy who's shop built the car - feel free to ask away on anything you would like . The car is already a contender for some nice magazine coverage when finished. Did anyone get to see it in person at the Syracuse Nats in my booth ? Let me know - thanks

      Be glad to :
      hand fabricated new fire wall
      dse quadralink
      dse coil over
      dse subframe connectors
      dse mini tubs
      replaced roof
      replaced trunk floor
      replaced lower tail pan
hand fabricated roll cage with door swing outs (custom fitted to owner)
      ford 9" rear end
      repaired and welded floors
      installed dse sub frame kit
      replaced quarters
fabricated seat stanchions for aftermarket seats
car has been fitted and gapped
      frame off rotisserie restoration
Undercarriage has has had body work & paitn as well

The labor and parts (and supplies) have been included in the price (Almost 1/2 is just the parts alone). There have been some modifications to the original design (by the customer) which have also resulted in changes to the work.

Detroit Speed Engineering parts dont come cheap and my shop's work isnt MAACO quality either ! We dont do collision work in the shop (in other words we arent an auto body shop that does modern car repair and then some classic work on the side). Restorations and custom work is all we focus on. The type of vehicle really doesnt matter either- the rates are the same for all classics that roll in the door and many of my customer builds have been a labor of love and not just for resale value.

Hope that helps to clarify ! Gotta go to work!

Lenny, thank you for that clarification. When he mentioned the $40K price tag I knew that it was not just for paint. There is definitely $40K worth of parts and labor in that bill....probably more.

And nice work by the way. That car is going to be amazing when it debuts.

LOL- my paint work isnt that expensive- the average paint job is about $10K right now.... Thanks for the vote of confidence in the car- I cant wait until its done either- it will really be a great ride. Allen made some great choices for his build.

      Ourageous, love the color.

Did you not go with rack and pinion for a reason?

I have a 71 Ventura (same subframe) with a Pinto rack in it, this car had a 605 Donovan in it before I bought it.
