It depends on the damage and how much frame metal is left. Usually the frame has been rotting for some time by the time you see the cockeyed bumper. I simple replaced the whole frame on my malibu when I got it with a good one. They are cheap enough and probably an easier fix than repairing the old one. Plus you can box the new one before you install it and notch it also if you want to. I pretty much jacked my car up, removed the frontend, and then unbolted the old frame. Rolled the new one (with all new frontend parts, engine, tranny, rearend, etc) back under the body. What a difference to the "same" car.

On a sad note, my malibu now has a new home and zip code guys, just could not keep em all.

Sorry to hear Bill.... does the new owner have any new plans with it? Like maybe wanting to get rid of those AFX spindles?

I just found this thread. I have an 87 Turbo Regal and had a 78 Malibu wagon that had a 355/200r4 in it that got totaled about 4 months ago. My dad and brother both have 87 Turbo Regal Limited as well.

Well I'm new here, and while I have not begun my new project, when I do it will be a '86-'88 Monte SS. My first car back in the day was a '86 SS and I still regret getting rid of it. So my plans are to get another one in memory of the old one and do everything that I wanted to (but couldn't afford to) do back then.

I thought I had posted in this thread but I guess not. Here are some pics of my 87 GN. I recently upgraded to rear disc off of an ls1 camaro to match the ls1 fronts and went with EBC slotted and dimpled rotors all the way around. I couldn't be happier with how they turned out.

Over 2 years ago I brought my 81 Malibu classic to a guy to have a cage installed. Things went very wrong and I chased after it and eventually got the police involved and they located the guy in a hospital. I got my Malibu back just before Memorial Day weekend. Got it painted it over the holiday weekend and color sanded it on Memorial day. The cage is being finish welded this weekend and then I'll buff the paint and start reassembly. Color is Audi Imola Yellow. I'll be puting a new black vinyl Laundau roof back on. Interior is now black with race buckets.

Sold my 42,000 mile 88 Cutlass Supreme Classic survivor yesterday.
