So I entered my first autocross race on Sunday and tho it was a lot if fun I ran into a few problems. First problem. After helping set up and work the first heat I get the nova all ready and prepare for my heat. Pull up flagger says go I dump the peddle get around the first turn only to be red flagged. So I pull off the course and they tell my im pouring out gas from the tank. So after letting out a couple gallons I head back to race. Only to have the same thing happen. So I go down the street to autozone and pick up a new gas cap. Finally I get to complete one lap only to be told I did not finish... and I didn't go around a certain cone.

So I attempt a second lap only to be told again I DNF and now my axle is leaking diff fluid lol. SO I call it a day and load her back up. Even tho all that I still had fun sliding the old girl around the corners and getting her loose. Luckily the rear diff problem was the seal and was only a $40.00 fix.

They are having another event in two weeks and I hope I can have tho old girl ready by then. I just ordered Hotchkis front adjustable shocks and sway bar so I am hoping I will have a week to test and work the kinks out!

As Far as mods their are quite a bit. Most likely 4 link the rear, and 12'' wilwoods in the rear. Wilwood master cylinder, eventually switch over to a twin turbo ls 6.0, full cage, Switch out to coilovers up front and rack and pinion. Im sure their will be more but that all I can think of on the spot. Racing wise Im attending another event next weekend the 23rd and hopefully once the rear suspension is changed from ladder bars to 4 link I will so some road racing.

This thing hits me right in the feels....gotta love the wrap..1080 is easy to work with, so people should not fear the vinyl.

Guess who installed ride tech 4 link yesterday... Car handles 100000 times better than the old ladder bars. Now I just need a rear sway bar. Any suggestions? Mine might have to be custom...

I would see what ridetech recommends for a rear sway bar. They seem to have this game figured out quite well. Especially using their parts.

So yesterday I got first place in CAM-T with a 3 second lead over 2nd and a 6 second lead over 3rd. Guess the new 4 link did the trick! The first video was the winning lap and the second video would have been the fastest lap but I ended up taking a cone out.

Very nice man! I wish you were closer to me, I'd have you wrap my car. I'm gonna leave that to the professionals. Looking to get that done very soon.

I have a few questions about your tire set up. It looks like your not running any inner fenders in the front correct? I'm guessing that is how you get away with no to minimal rubbing? I'd love to stuff 275's in the front of mine. Even if i have to remove or cut up my inner fenders a bit. 18x9.5 with a 6 back spacing, correct? Bet that thing corners like a dream!!!

I also bought the same A arms you did. Did you upgrade them to derlin bushings at all? Do you like the a arms and how they feel and installed? Anything you don't like about them? Did they align ok?

I'm actually deciding on wheels and tires right now as I just bought a full disk conversion for my 71 Nova. Also got the full Hotchkis TVS system and sub-frame connectors. was just looking for some cheaper A-Arms.

Keep up the good work man, car looks fun as heck to drive. Hope to have mine done soon!

First off thanks the wrap was super hard and it looks killer! Yes no inner fenders. Idk if that makes a difference with rubbing much but at full lock the tire rubs. The wheels I have are 18x9.5 with a 20mm offset which would put you in the 6 to 5.75 offset range. Im running 275 up front and 295 out back. Just got new Falken 165k's for this race and they made a huge difference.

I did not upgrade anything on the arms. The uppers went on just fine it was the lowers that were a bitch. But nothing a BFH couldn't fix. Be prepaired to hammer away! Alignment was no issue but the one down side is since the car is so Low I only have a half inch of upwards travel. Car is lowered 5 inches up front. Im thinking about removing the bumps. Are you in Texas?
