ya but after the ls swap and the new rear end (which added 80 lbs alone) and the 14'' rear brakes instead the drums put the car at 3032 still not bad tho.

So did you ever figure out what was going on with your brakes going soft?

Whoa! Sweet Maverick behind you! LOL

It was nice to finally meet you. That Nova is going to rule the scene once you get it all dialed in.

Check out this post for lower link angle information. It has a lot of torque arm talk but the link arm theory still applies.

I'll be there on Friday to get some test 'n tune in. Hopefully we'll get to test on the competition course. I need the extra time to learn it and make last minute adjustments. I find it interesting that they are going to tech on Friday and then let us leave. I dont trailer my car so thats 150 miles I will have driven it between the time I tech and when we start racing.

Love the Nova, looks great and the future driver should really tear it up once he can reach the pedals.

Thank you! So we did pretty good last weekend at the Texas CAM Challenge. Saturday I ended up in 4th (SCCA write up shows me in 3rd somehow...) and my co driver in 5th. Sunday I got knocked out in 5th and my co driver took the car all the way to 2nd! The first place car was a 10 time national champion driving a CP car... I cant wait till the next challenge in Indiana I just signed up and am excited how we do against another region! Hopefully Ill have my brake problem fixed by then. Ill be ordering a new Moser floater here soon!

It would be awesome but my racing budget has been reallocated to Disney World this year.

So its been awhile so heres a quick update on the car. Finally decided to do a floater swap in the rear to fix the knockback problems and tho it did fix 90% of the problem I still have some knockback, But it is manageable! By doing that I had to re configure the Ride tech weld in 4link as well, and since moser does no make any 14'' rotor adapters/ caliper mounts I had to get creative.

So Wilwood sent me a old corvette rotor hat that I then bored out to fit over the floater hub. Then had to re drill the 5x5 pattern to mount on the hub. After that I used two small caliper tabs to template up one large one to make my caliper mounts. And finally I also had to center bore out my new BBS wheels to fit thru the floater snout... Little more work than I thought it would take but in the end I finally had brakes!

optima COTA was coming up fast and I knew I needed a 4th gear for the road course so I decided to drop in a 4l60e and TCI paddle shifters and ez tcu. Let me tell you their has been nothing easy about it. I went thru three sets of paddles since non of them were paired they wouldn't communicate. After that issue was fixed for some reason the TCU wasn't working properly so on the the second computer. Still having problems with missing second gear but I had enough of messing with it and optima was two days away.

So on testing the car the front tires corded... Really... So of course no one has or can get BF Goodrich Rival S tires so I was kinda screwed. Luckily one of my buddies had a spare set of 315 rivals and even tho I have never tried to mount 315's on the front of the car I said **** it and mounted them anyway. Sure enough They fit just fine!

Optima was a blast ended up 12th in GTL overall! 11th in speed stop 10th in autocross and 10th in road course. But man being on that road course was a blast! Then went on to CAM Challenge east and ended taking 5th in the Challenge! It has been a busy couple months but season isn't over yet! In a few weeks the car and myself will head out to the CAM Challenge Invitationals and the SCCA Nationals!

As for now I have some testing to do! I have noticed some outer wear on the front tires due to my front suspension being stock replacements. So Josh at ridetech recommended trying their front spindles to correct the 1970 geometry. Those come in next week and Ill be updating ya'll then!

What's the story on the Bilstein coil-overs? Running them front and rear? Have any additional info on them?

Yes running front and rear. They were custom made from Bilstein for the nova. They are my secret weapon... But seriously great people at Bilstein. I sent those back and forth at least 5 times to get it right for height stroke fitment etc.. Never a problem always solutions. Same goes with PAC springs back an forth getting spring rates right great group of guys at both companies to be messing with my little project!

They aren't planning on making production versions of these its a custom deal. The way I got in was my buddy works for Porsche racing and got me in contact with his rep at Bilstein.
