I have the din slot cut. The Mustang cluster is roughed in. I filled one more hole in the floor while I was waiting for my brain to start this morning.

In the words of Vince Gill: this is the last last time I should have to flip the chassis. When I ran the exhaust, I had to widen the frame cut outs to fit how I wanted to run things. Today was the day to finish that.

The "I can do that better" syndrome arrived again. I haven't been happy with part of the engine cradle since day 1. I left it in the back of my mind for later. Today was later. Still not as good as I wanted but as good as I have ideas for at this time. It's boxed all the way around next to the side rails now.

I got a good start on straightening the fuel lines before my tubing bender broke. It'll be a while before that task gets completed.

How and what are you using to straighten the lines with?

I was using one of my benders to reverse the 90's. The 45's were easy but the 90's were what broke the bender. This probably won't look like new tubing when I give up. I haven't decided how much time I'll spend on this.

Really lackluster update. I wasted hours trying to straighten the 3 fuel lines from the Mustang. I made the decision today to order a roll of 5/16 and 1/4 line and adapt to the Ford connections and start over. It only costs another $50 to go first class. I filled the last 2 big holes in the firewall.

The fuel lines are roughed in. I ordered some plastic clamps that will allow me to stack the large line on top of the 2 smaller lines running down the side of the frame. I'm not real happy with this but it still is my intention to use as much Mustang stuff as possible. I'm about to get irritated enough to spend another $500 on tools, though. I'd sure like to have the Mastercool flaring tool a friend mentioned and a real tubing straightener. I realize that brake and fuel lines are hidden but that isn't what this is about.

What is the 'real' tube straightener that you are thinking of? I'm planning on using as much from my donor as well.

Gojeep, I am interested in the one that you mentioned that has the 4 sided rollers. I found that on my original lines, everywhere there was a 90 degree bend that it stretched the tube enough that it wouldn't straighten very well. Then when I tried to rebend, it went to pot instantly. I ended up using a block of wood drilled to straighten the new rolls. It's certainly not good enough for a show car but it was better than the hand method. The question I have is will the 4 sided one work on steel. On their website it shows copper in it. I may buy some patio door rollers and build something simple. I have a roll of 3/16 brake line to see if it's a good idea or not.

They are a good idea even if you have a new roll that has come coiled.
