I have to be honest, I never cared for the sharp body line in the back of the first generation AMXs, but with your changes, it looks amazing.

They were always an awkward looking car. Kind of geared toward drag racing like everything in the 60s. It was just a cut down Javelin, funny while dismantling a couple of these cars you can see where AMC cut the original Javelin chassis and floor and welded them back together. Everyone I've seen looks the same.....like someone stick welded it with the lights off.

I wanted to see with build if I could take a car that was almost a good looking car, do some plastic surgery and actually make a very attractive sled. I'm happy so far, but only time will tell.

Ron, can you show how you're doing the "lip" around the tire on the rear quarter? And what you used? Stock AMX or something else?

The wheel lip is a factory part, but not from an AMX. Honestly I can't remember what its off of. A buddy owns a body shop, I dig through his crap sometimes to find parts. It still needs to be reshaped/lengthened/narrowed before it get welded on.

      BTW, the new shop rocks.

AMC guy here, so maybe some bias. That said I like how you've integrated the later Javelin wheel openings into an early 2-seat AMX, your design and execution are fantastic.

Man, this looks so good. And I'm not really a fan of the AMX stock.

I really like this build. There are extensive modifications that look very natural with the factory lines. I love the wide fenders.

Amazing work as always Ron! The other quarter should go faster now that you can pull templates from the finished side.
I love the new garage, smart to go with a solid floor color. When I drop any hardware on my epoxy floor the flakes are like camouflage and the bolts vanish.

LOVE it! Are the wheel lips the same height?

That is so funny. Sutton had me take the rake out of the car during the suspension layout. I was afraid to take the rear lip any higher, if I take the rear up (which I probably will) I fear it would look like 70's Gabriel High Jackers.
