It really makes me appreciate the cars you'll find in the western states that have very little rust to be fixed. It cuts about the first three pages of a build thread down by not having that much sheet metal to have to document replacing.

Great work so far. This one should be a fun to watch come together.

Brian wanted something fun to work on so he started installing the DSE rear suspension. Part of the trunk floor has to be cut out.

I don't know what wheels the customer is going to use but I believe it will be white with the blue stripes like a Shelby.

Front cradle bolted in place and new DSE front mounts welded in place of the stock sway bar mount

      Holes drilled in frame

Crush tubes that go in the frame

Crush tubes bolt to the upper mount and will be welded to the frame

Top bracket plug & tack welded in place

You have to weld a snubber bracket to the frame rail

      Crush tubes welded in place

Starting to fabricate a brace. DSE leaves the stock strut rod brackets but I like this better plus it gives you somewhere to place a jack.

I like that setup in the front. I'm going to research that as I'd like to find one for a 62-65 Fairlane.

Great work here. Keep it up. I'm interested to see the final product.

The next on our list was to install the DSE rear suspension. It is a good thing they send a video and Brian bought a portable DVD player. This is what he is starting with.

It has been awhile since Brian started installing the DSE rear suspension.

You have to assemble the upper control arm bracket.

Shock mounting bracket also welded in place

the RND into that front subframe must have been a small fortune.

Great thread as I'm getting ready to start my 65 fastback and this is the suspension setup I was wanting to do.

Before Brian started the bottom brackets I sprayed a couple coats of epoxy

The lower bracket is tack welded to the DSE torque box.

Welded in place along with another bracket

At one time the floor board had been worked on.

      Brian cut out the floor

Cleaned the frame rail and epoxy primed

      New floor pan

Sanded and ready for SPI black epoxy

Sprayed a couple coats of black epoxy
