      Aluminum Block 427 Install

Ordered engine on Monday, wont be ready for another 4 weeks. Yesterday I built storage space in my garage to make room to pull old motor and install new. Today I went to the county to pick up my approved plans for my new shop and then organized my garage. Here are pics of new storage space that I built, car in place of where work will take place, old engine still in car, and the plans for my new shop that I will be building next to my house.

Wow, 4/8 since last post. Well it started out just to be aluminum engine install but has turned into a bit more, Aluminum Front Clip is scheduled to be here April 28th, pulled fenders, installed 700 lb front springs, and new Corbeau FX-1 Pros today

If you click on just one of those links, when you get into photobucket you can slide show from upper left side.

Yeah, I'm excited to get it done and make Buttonwillow June 5th. She should be done 3rd week in May.

Oh yeah, thanks. Original weight before swap is 3220. Car only.

The freight company delivering the aluminum front clip just told me that they will be a day late so its looking like the 29th of this month now.

Just spoke with my engine builder building my aluminum block 427 and originally we were shooting for 580 hp. That has changed to 625 hp. Motor should be here May 10th.

How do you like the fit and finish of those aluminum body panles?

It's definitely not bolt on application out of the box. Alot of the pre-drilled holes have to be reamed or re-drilled. Also, my passenger side door body lines are not quite right where it meets the front fender. Thats not something I could fix by adjusting or lining up. Also, the hood has a crown and sits about 3/16" above center of fenders.

If you buy these panels make sure your scheduled for a good body shop.

Lucky for AMD I'm more of a funtion not form guy and will leave good enough alone or I'd be on the phone right now

You'd think that for the money you spend it would be a tighter package.

Well, the car is at the paint shop and wont be back till this Friday. I'm flying out to Muncie, Indiana to watch my new motor get dyno'd on the 13th. Going with 3" exhaust. My headers are being made right now and wont be here till the 18th. Here are some goodies the Fed Ex guy dropped off.

Thanks Jeff, always puts a smile on my face when I get a response, LOL. Unfortunately, now I have to wait around for my engine until I do anything else even when car gets back from paint on Friday. Cant install radiator, new throttle cable and pedal set up, electric vacuum pump,............................................. ........................................

Although, I will be able to put my front bumper and side marker lights when car gets back on Friday, LOL.

Almost forgot, could install new Dynamat and carpet too.

Been talking to Baer about new brakes past couple days, if I order tommorrow I'll see them in a week. Beleive it or not, my old two piston set up was pretty effective on the road course at 3400 lbs, but I,m drooling over the fact that I could brake deeper into the turns with a six piston set up and 200 lbs lighter.
