      or is that "chatspeak"???
Not at all. In fact it's a fairly common literary device called an ellipsis. It was famously used for years by San Francisco Chronicle columnist, Herb Caen.

Im surprised no one has attributed bad grammer, run on senteces and spelling mistakes to 'PUI'

      "posting under the influence....."

at some offshore boat sites I hang at this is a real possibility at any time of the day.....

I think there is a difference between once in a blue moon vs the habitual offender. The latter is annoying.....and the topic of this discussion.

To my mind there is a difference between sites that are aggresivly independent and those that seek support from vendors and members. C-C.com has no sponsorships and no paid memberships. Those that run the site are free to do (and allow) whatever they choose.

Pro-touring.com is different. It accepts both sponsors and paid memberships. In that context, I think the mods owe a different standard of behavior to members.

Public chastisement by a mod shouldn't be part of the deal. A PM making whatever point the mod thinks appropriate should suffice; and then if the member choses to ignore the advice, so be it. We are all free to ignore posts that are ungrammatical, poorly spelled or ask questuons that have been asked a 1,000 times before.

Pointing out that a member who ignores grammar and is currently unemployed seems like the cheapest of shots.

This site can become C-C.com, and I will immediately ask Larry for a refund, or it can continue as the (mostly) tolerant place it has been. I have my pet peeves, and will express them from time to time, but I don't speak for the site they way mods do.

Thanks Mike, but I am back at work now; with an unstable disk. I short stepped the stairs out of my basement at about 3:30 am Monday morning. I bent all 5 toes about 135 degrees straight up and back about 45 degrees, sprained my ankle, smacked my face off some stairs and dislocated my hip(again). I still worked 50 hours in steel toe boots this week. I have gotten extremely tough, both mentally and physically.
Words will never get to me...........

      Habitual offender? Annoying??

Opinions are like......... Well we all know that line don't we?

So many times I have felt like I have hit bottom and could start clawing back up.

At the bottom of the stairs that morning, I finally realized I had a lot more falling to do, before I ever get close to the bottom.

Glad to hear you're looking at things in a positive light still Kevin. Personally, I love your random caps posts. They crack me up because they suppliment the wit that is present in the post. Besides that, it also makes me question just what all those pills you are having to take are doing to you. I say keep it up to break up the monotony.

      WerD!

All my friends KnoW the way my eyebrows raise, they know I will laugh frantically every chancE I get. They KnoW I can make a ten hour day feel like five. If you work hard enough at LunCh you will forget the morning and it is like a NeW day!

My RandoM caps are not ment to harm anyones eyes or raise ModZ bloodpressure. It is just a way I cominicate my PersonA througH this wonderful place where we all gather to B-S.

If it offends someone, I guess that is a PluS 1. If it erks someone, that is a pluS 2. So on and so on.........

Yes, many of us are more serious than others?? I assure you I am not. PluS all of my postS can fall under the PUI ruleZ. My theripast and my doctor both now say I should have surgery. My theripast will not even see me anymore. He says I am destroying my hip and it will need replaced as well. I say good, two for one discount, when the time comes.

BaHHHH, the surgeoN says I need to quit smoking for six weeks. I asked for a HacK that would fix me while I was SmokinG and they did not take me serious?

If I was in a car wreck and needed a fusion to keep me from being paraliZed? they would do it. Right? Then why can't they do it noW?? I bet I can out wait them.

      I bet I will!

ThE only person that enjoys smoking more than me is those damn smiley faces!

If I injure a fusion, I am screwed for life. Right now, I can over do it and pop myself back in place, so why screw up a good thing?

And oh SnaP, I just noticed you are beyond My range of MathmaticaL equationS. TimE to break out the CalculatoR to top that ShiZ..........

I guess I might be a little behind on the grammar and spelling thing. My dad used to use this real redneck as a subcontractor. We used to read the invoice after he left because the spelling and grammar were so aweful. We had an absolute blast reading them because he would just go and make up words. "Dramastic," "Sole sobrietor," were only a couple of the ones I could remember. Oh and the second one was how he described his business. So it comes down to this, I laugh at your aweful grammar and spelling. It isn't because I feel like I am better, it's just entertaining to see how people make their own spelling and grammar rules!
