I always wondered, how do they have the cars in bare metal and not have it form some kind of surface rust?

I asked the guys at the shop the same question. They will sometimes use a thin layer of oil and use a pad across the surface, but the building is climate controlled which reduces the chances of surface rust.

      For my protouring friends.
Great picts. When you look through the grill and see that procharger it just looks absolutely mean. Levi's the man for the job on that setup. Did an incredible job on it. The core support/supercharger cover he built is gorgeous.
We also have a color for the car, it is spot on and looks spooky. They painted a small panel for us to check out and the color change in certain lighting is amazing. A dark charcoal will be used. I know i keep saying this but this time its a reality...body shop any day now.

      peace

This is the most bad a** Nova ever created! I can't wait until it's done. I am only 18 and about to start a Pro-Touring project on my '69 Nova. It will be my first project and i hope it turns out a tenth as cool as your car will turn out. That roll cage set up is awesome and i hope to have something similar in my car. Great car and hope to see it in person in the near future.

D.........I went back on Troy's site and looked at all the pics of the Nova, so far..........speachless, absolutely speachless, the one-off fabrication work is just magical. The exhaust, the hood, the dash, etc.etc. Can't wait to see it in person, I'm glad you live close!!!

Glad you like it Scott....now the real fun begins and the magic happens as they bodywork and paint it. Its only going to get better from here. You ought to check the car out at the shop sometime, since your local.

might be worth a sick day, since they are M-F only...........how much longer on the build? have they given you a finish date?

We are visiting today because the car is sitting on the ground with everything completed. The car is going to the body shop later today or tommorrow. The finish date is going to be around may. I would say that you should visit sometime in march after it comes back from the paint shop.

The sky is always a little brighter and the temps a little warmer in Manteno! haha...you think some snow is going to stop us?? Actually wasnt too bad out there. We got to the shop at around 5 and hung around as they finished up some last min items. Had some beers with troy and company bs-ing about all the fantastic noises that motor is going to make procharger and all...6hrs later and we're back home.
