Nice work on the cage, no low to high cross brace at the back?

Yeah I knew someone would nail me on that.. If I weld that in then I won't be able to install my back seat as it wont fit through the holes.. Or if it does I'm a dufus cause I could barley get it in there now! I figure I could TIG one in later if I need it for an event.. We'll see.

So I spoke with Vintage Air and apparently they can convert my sure fit a/c system to hook up to their stream line bulkheads that pass through the fire wall. So the other night I cut out a piece of the fire wall that I had drilled for the tubes to pass through and welded in a new piece of sheet metal that will house the Streamline bulkhead.. Nothing like creating a little more body work for the body man.. Sorry dude!!

WELL,

It has been a long time coming but we have finally moved the car to where we can continue to work on it. Some may recognize that the car now resides in our old shop that we used to work out of. It is here that we are going to build a home grown paint booth and finish painting the car. Last Sunday we cleared out what seemed like 50 copy machines that had acumulated in this room to make room for more important things... like cars! Scott finished prepping the cage and shot it in GM Recon black for me. The paint is thinner than I remember so tonight we are going to shoot a second coat on the entire thing. After that we will begin masking off the interior and preparing to paint. I have attached a few photos that I snapped last night of the cage and hope to have better/more pictures this weekend!









p.s.

One good thing about posting pictures is that we have found a few "dry" areas that are hard to see when you are standing next to the car!

One of the Camaros is this one in this thread that I'm posting about. The other is the Ram Jet 383 car that I have owned for about 9 years now. I haven't shot any pictures of the car in a while now but will see if I can't get a couple in the next few weeks.

Over the weekend I welded up one thing on my 'cage that I forgot and I seamsealed the bottom of the car where I raised the tunnel and transmission crossmember humps. Not really photograph worthy I hate to say. As for the body work I had a friend do it for me, he is also going to paint the car as well.

It is actually over at another building of ours now, and thats where the paint work is being done now as well.
