Unfortunatly I won't be able to work on the car for a while because I am currently now living in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. But I will certainly update when I get back home and started on the car again later this year.
PS If you liked his car in 04, you should see it now with the LS7. Its crazy.

Well holy crap… I can’t believe this car is seeing the light of day! After a few years of being on the back burner I have finally found the time to get this thing out. A lot of things have happened that have impeded my working on this car but I am now back on it! We have moved into our new shop and below are the first pictures of the car off of my body cart in 3 years. We also got the motor out and installed the Front Runner system on it. At the moment we are fighting the transmission not wanting to go on the motor. I also recently picked the car up from having the roll cage welded in for me by a professional. Dang if feels good to be moving forward on this car again.

Well after a rough couple of days trying to install my new D&D T56 I had some help come over and learned that I was using the wrong roller pilot bearing… So alas the trans has found a new home and is mated to the engine. While I was working on that part of the car I thought that I would install my new ATS transmission mount. Only to learn that it wasn’t designed around lowered body mounts. But, as with every car that we seem to build it wasn’t anything the mushroom tip on the air hammer couldn’t take care of. I was able to “clearance” the floor just enough to give me the room I needed. I was also wearing about 5 pounds of sand by the time I was done with the air hammer! Guess I didn’t quite get it all out after the blaster! Tonight I plan to slide the motor in and begin to modify the tunnel to house this package.

mdprovee- Thanks for the compliment.. That is the first cage I have ever built. Was a lot of work but totally worth it.

      ------------------------

Well it was a pretty good weekend. I was able to work on the car Friday night and again on Sunday. Friday we slipped the engine and trans into the car and learned that lowered body mounts make this swap a little bit tougher. To get the ATS transmission cross member in there I had to cut out the humps on either side of the tunnel to make room for the new mount. We also had to cut the top of the tunnel off and raise it about 1 inch to give the proper clearance. I also mounted my e-brake on some plate to spread the load out. I am thinking of lengthening the handle which explains why it is sitting back a little bit. Plus I am about 6-4 with shoes on and have to move my seats 4 inches back from stock just to drive these cars comfortably. Well that is it for now. I am headed to the mid-west this weekend for a wedding so I won’t be able to get to the car until the week after. Bummer.

It is a 2002 LS6 with a blueprinted oil pump, ARP rod bolts, Comp XR281HR Cam, ATS oil pan, and I am running a stock computer. I'm also using Stainless Works headers and ATS motor mounts. I'm not sure how much power it is going to make but I think high 400 should be about right for that cam.
