Hey Scot, I used to use UG when I worked for a valve mfg based out of Elkhart. I wish I still had UG, I really liked it a lot. Its just too expensive for me to buy just to play with. I was a product designer for the valve manufacturer, now I fabricate granite countertops as my own business.

      Watts link rear end

I'm building a watts link for a 38 ford truck we're working on here. I've omitted a few things but I'm sure you get the idea. Mainly I was getting all the parts I needed out to the laser cutters

      Sorry about a month late.

UG has changed a lot int he last 5 years or so. Now it is called NX, stands for "Next generation". They bought Ideas a few years back & have started merging them together.

You own business huh? I would like to do that, just don't know what I want to do. I am getting tired of working for someone else, & someoen telling me what do to.

Russell, One thing I would suggest if you are really going to make this.

Get rid of the elongated/pointed holes in your brackets:

Yeah they look cool, but where they come to a point is a weak spot & they will crack.

Why not just measure a battery and draw one up?

Well thats what I ended up doing plus i went to summit racing and got the sizes for one of the metal battery boxs. I figured if I had space for that there would room for whatever battery I end up using.

Just to give you guys an idea on how we design items for production here is a glimpse of a Off-road shackle and fixture. Notice, 100% of the part is welded in the fixture, ensuring a perfect unit each and every time.

      Jason,

I like how you use alignment tabs to help line up all the pieces. So do you have a laser or water jet?
