What Insurance Company are you guys using?

Hey guys, I contacted Hagerty's about getting insurance on my 67 camaro and I got a call back from them today that they wouldn't cover it to be driven on the road. Reason was it has too much h.p. Who are you guys using for insurance?

      Thanks

You need to contact Morgan owner of Hayden Wood Insurance. He is a member here and an independent Hagerty agent.

I am using American Collectors Ins. Had for about 15 years low rates great coverage. Had 1 claim car was in the home garage during a house fire every thing that was not distroyed by fire was black from heavy smoke damage. The one and only time I put the car away without putting windows up and locking up the tan leather interior was ruined the car was solid black from heavy soot. They paid for all repairs no questions asked no deductible at the shop of my cousing. I've got nothing to complain about there service.

We've used ANPAC with decent results.

Im covered through Hagerty. They not one single time asked me what engine or horsepower I had. In fact, they only looked at 1 single picture of the car.

We insure both our 66 and our 64 wagon with Alex Larue (www.larueclassics.com). He's the agent and we actually have the insurance with American Modern. Larue had been involved in the Chevellabration Chevelle show in TN for years and we met him there. After Deb hit the semi-truck driveshaft last August in the 66 we put our insurance through the test and have zero complaints!

Hagerty but American Modern and Grundy are also excellent insurance carriers. All will have special restrictions for their collector car policies as they're "agreed value." Can't remember if they asked about horsepower but I do know their ears perked when I told them about the roll bar.

I applied to Grundy, but they declined to cover me because I mentioned using the car for autocross and/or drag racing. I knew they wouldn't cover it during the event, but figured I could get coverage driving to an event or just regular pleasure driving.

I ended up with Heacock Classics (American Modern). They said I am covered up until the car entered competition (clock starts or lights turn green). Premium was $250/yr. There was a fairly detailed worksheet to fill out describing all the modifications done to the car and I had to provide pics.

Grundy.... Had to make a claim about 2 years ago and then added other items about 6 months later after more damage was discovered..... They never blinked an eye at any of it.... Quick and easy to deal with... Highly recommend

It was either Hagerty or Grundy that denied me Insurance on my Fairlane and Falcon as soon as they heard the Suspension had been modified.

NCM Insurance is who I use. http://www.ncminsurance.com/our-coll...rformance.html

Agreed upon value, Accepted my list of mods and had to send several pictures of the cars.

I just submitted to Hagerty, I have a Rod & Custom Front and Rear Coilover suspension and a lot of other updates, I'll see what they say.

I spoke with Hagerty and I was surprised at how much they allowed. I haven't chosen an insurer yet, but I specifically asked hagerty about modifications and performance driving events. The gentleman had no problems with my modified car and although the car couldn't be covered during the performance event, for typical street driving and such it would be.

It's interesting to hear how other people's quotes and policies differ.

I have Condon Skelly. They sent someone out to look at the car. He took pictures and we discussed and agreed on the coverage. (It is an agreed upon value policy)
It was less expensive than many I called, with the same coverage limits. I have had this insurance for 3 years and the price has not changed.
