ended up with Hagerty - was a little more money then two other quotes, but was pretty easy to sign up and get all the modifications and parts covered for my car.

I needed to establish insurance on my car also, so this week I got quotes from Hagerty and LaRue. Hagerty was really expensive comparatively, and Alex was much cheaper for the same level of coverage. Also, it turns out that as a PT.com member, you get even more of a discount with him. I listed all of the modifications to my car, and sent the pictures of my build to document it all. Alex was great to work with, and the ultimate coverage is with American Modern.

      Smooth setup so far...

Hagerty on my 67 RS Camaro and yes it is highly modified. No problems or issues over the last 8 years I have been with them. I do not race my car. Just to note.

Another great choice for modified cars is Richard Ferguson at Hartland Insurance Group.

Both offer modified street and separate track day insurance programs, if you're into that sort of thing. Track day insurance is usually a per event, high deductible program. I've seen quote of $500 per event or $800 for three events. That's independent of your regular coverage. I think the deductible is like $5K with track day insurance. So, if you have a minor "off" and tear the exhaust of your car, the incident falls under the deductible. If, however, your car sustains major damage because some yahoo T-Bones you, The car is covered.

      Stuff happens.

We've never had an issue with Hagerty in that regard.
