Next up is trimming out the interior. First is the the door panel tops

Then I moved on to the C pillar panels, trying to avoid the actual door panels for now, I haven't decided on the design yet.

Made a pattern from the original pieces with ABS plastic

Then matching pattern made out of 1/4" closed cell foam and an oversized piece of black vinyl

Cut up and ready to glue for tomorrow

Crappy installed picture, even with a flash.

Made a pattern for the front door panels that will be transfered to pieces of ABS plastic for backers.

And had some vinyl made for my front fender badges, our little weird groups website name. Means lightning racing in english.

Lots of action but little to the car. We bought a house that just happens to have a three car garage.

      New home

It does have door panels and power windows now

Gotta get moving on the swap again so I printed out this, lost my original notes in the move

      To get this finished

Pulled all extraneous parts to get the engine cleaned up for paint

Sent away my hard earned cash for this(borrowed pics)

LS1 oil pan that is muuuuch more shallow than my monster truck pan and will get the sump above the crossmember.

It is also built for speed with trap doors for oil control, much better than most aftermarket pans

Crusty, greasy lump removed from transmission

      And now a clean lump

Ha Ha... I have found some real Volvo people that are willing to spend money for my Volvo builds and products, so I am thinking the tides are changing... Working on 70-100k classic Volvo's, with 3 customer builds, several more at home builds with our higher end products, and 4 more on the in house wating list, and my two personal builds.... LOL

Wouldn't guess that by the guys on TB. ;) I love your work, glad there are some guys that really appreciate your work on Volvo's. I showed of your glass the other day to a Camaro guy, he loved it.

Engine wiring mocked up for placement and to get lengths

A little messier out back but ready to start lengthening, shortening, and terminating. I am building the transmission harness separate just in case I ever go to a manual.

      Next up....

      Just for grins...

Bearings look good for a supposed 130K and there is still a crosshatch in the cylinders, good enough for a budget build!

They build these motors right, and when I worked at a Chevy dealer, we had service trucks com in with over 400k on them, with the engine never being opened up.. I guess that is what these motors are so widely available and resonable as salvage pull outs, and that is because they just arent blowing up.. LOL

Nice Build!! I was wondering what the size of the tires are and what is the backspacing on the rims?

Volvo has the weird 5x4.25 pcd and even with adapters makes wheel selection difficult.

      Rear tires mounted....

And both rears mounted to one side...
