Add Child Seat anchor points

Anyone ever add child seat anchor points to their rear seat floors or back plates? If so what size bar to use? 1/4"??? Any ideas or thoughts on this?

I used a 2000 Honda Civic (wifes daily driver) "hooks" and cover. They were good enough for a Honda. Mounted them to the package tray, with a big washer. Used that for the top strap of the car seat. Then, once they are big enough for booster seat, or just the back seat I purchased a harness from a bus to tie to the mount so they are 4 pointed in.

MDProvee, that's a pretty cool harness. What I'm more referring to here is that I've got a 4 week old & need to install mounting points for a child seat base. I know I can use a seat belt to secure the base, but the mounting points add more safety & adds a "Cool" factor to the car as it's modern update & kid friendly

I'm gonna take a look at my wife's 2003 Acura MDX to see how that looks & size of the connectors, then see if I can't find something similar to weld in place.

Anyone have any updates? I have reworked my seats belts folr my daughter but now I have 2 daughters and am looking for better ways to secure them both

I got beat up pretty good because it isn't OEM but jeez when I was a kid I remember laying on the package tray while we drove. OEM? Not back then. I did this over in stainless for both sides since this thread.

Wow, I like how you did yours much better then I did mine. I have to pull my back seat to latch and un-latch the straps.

Well, I think the issue came with how you welded the rod to plate - its just not right. Regardless - whats wrong with using the lap belt to secure the seat? The lap belt goes through the same portion of the seat as the Latch system does. I think the safest thing to do would be to attach a similarly fashioned latch attachment point upper middle for the center Latch point to keep the top of the seat from rolling forward when in an accident.
