I used a 2006 BMW M5 Tow hook. Off memory it was a M16 thread. I welded a nut to the bumper bracket to screw it into. I had to use it at VIR when my car broke. Seem to work fine.

Brett, so are you putting them in then cutting the head of the screws off? Nice touch.

That is one down fall with the tow hooks - as soon as a tow truck driver sees one he assumes that not only is it a tow point, it's also a tie down point...

When Mary and I got pickup up in Southern Georgia the flatdeck driver was shocked when I told him that I didn't think that it was a good idea to use the tow hook as the single anchor point for the back end of the car... he was even more shocked when I told him that using the tailer hitch as a back up didn't make it any better idea...

      Yes Sirree Bob!

Brett -- what a badass piece. Man I love this thing. Brett and I were just chatting about how it looks like a chainsaw about 5 seconds before the owner of the orange Z06 came over and said "man that thing is a chainsaw." So it it is now aptly named the "Chainsaw" tow hook. LOL

Brett put a ton of time and love into this thing and it shows. Thanks for making me a killer part (that I needed!) for my car. Very impressed with your talents.

      Brett,
Hey , went through the entire thread and dig your work. Too bad you wasted your talents on Doug's car!! Haha...just kidding. Doug's car is pretty sweet. Anyways, I am here in Orange County and have a 65 Chevelle that is beating me up. It is a perfect candidate for a hook for your proto-type. Get in touch, I am actually a friend of Doug's and have no problem with using my ride. It is in the reconstruction phase and you cant hurt it.

      Let me know.

I'm sorry, but don't use my name to get cozy with a member of the "FRESH CREW". NO TOW HOOK FOR YOU.

Sorry Brett, I told you that when you work with celebrities you can expect this type of thing.
