      Ooooh!

I like the CCW's a lot. To me they really fit the car's personality. Full race baby.

The front brakes look huge on that thing, and I see what you are speaking of with the front tire really being stretched.

It attaches to the rocker and cowl normally, and I bent a custom core support out of 1" square tubing. The hood hinges backwards so I didn't have to attach anything to back or middle. Its pretty sturdy, but you wouldn't want to stand on it.I have considered fabbing some aluminum wheelwells, then I figured why add the weight. This is a good example of how a modern style non-deep-dish wheel can look SO good on a PT car.

I posted in a thread a while back (hell, I might have created the thread, I don't remember) where I asked peoples opinions on deep dish or not. Most people ONLY liked deep dish. I bet this would change some minds.

Actually, here it is - it was on the "other" board. http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=5771

You should post your car in that thread

I hate to say it,but I kind of like the deeper dish wheels. This build was all about budget and function, looks were always secondary.I think its the functionality of this car that allowed me to get away with a few things that I normally would hate.I normally hate when someone modifies an already beautiful body style, cowl hood, flares, modified nose.Flat wheels,Chevy motor in a Ford.If you were to discibe this car to me, I'd probably hate it,but the fact that it all helps the cars performance, and kind of has the old Trans Am style to acheive it,gives it IMO a bit of a pass.I've always said this is one of those cars that you will really like,or REALLY REALLY hate. Ron,
You've done such an outstanding job on this car that your causing this lifelong Chevy fan to consider building a Ford. Great job!

Ron, I'd be disappointed if this build didn't generate some mixed feelings and controversy. It's a big part of what makes it stand out.

A fairly recent issue of one of the monthly magazines had a picture with a number of Mustangs lined up. One of them was the same shade of blue as your Mutt. For a brief instant it was your car I was seeing (and I don't think that'll be the last time that color association happens).

I like different things on different cars. Usually, I like a very slight dish in the rear - enough to just notice that the front and rear are different.

Funny you mention the description of the car - I was telling my wife about it tonight and as I was explaining the build process, I realized that I've said "Corvette" maybe 5 times and "Mustang" only once or twice ;)

Goes to show that real gearheads will embrace crossovers like these when they are tastefully done. I vote you name it Shania ;)

I think the car looks bad azz with those wheels. Although my car has little or no dish I have to admit that I like some too...with a little more in the back. However even with the same wheels and some dish the car will still look the same. I think you should gloss black the centers and it would enhance the serious and aggressive look.

im sure that it will perform A LOT better with the new wheel and tire setup..

but to be honest im not sure i can get down with those wheels..

maybe if they were all black..
